Momma's Cornbread Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
I've made this so many times at the holidays here in Texas. It's so much like my grandmas recipe- she would be proud of me! My coworkers say its the best they have ever eaten, which is a compliment for someone my age!

Delicious and rich recipe! Like something out of a great restaurant! Really helps add flavor to such a bland fish.

Giblet Gravy I

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
I've made this every year since 2003 and it's just like my mom always made. This year I just noticed the reviews and will try making the roux with just a 1/4 cup butter + 1/4 cup flour until browned, then stir in the broth so the thickness can increase- it is usually a bit thin but noone mentions it. Love, love this!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
Good basic recipe and quick. I've had much better, but for the ease of the recipe, its very good. The dumplings are MUCH better if you use the Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust (NOT FROZEN- its by the can biscuits) as the dumplings - instead of the bisquits. The bisquits are good, but this crust used for dumplings makes this recipe even better. It's all I use for pies too - you'll thank me if you use frozen pie crust. I did have to add more water at the end. It got pretty sticky. Better the 2nd day too. Thanks for sharing!

Pork Chile Rojo (Pulled Pork with Red Chile Sauce)

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
Awesome recipe and so easy. Great for freezing in small portions to serve with lightly cooked corn tortillas. My husband thought he was in El Paso again :) Will make over and over as is.

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
This was a HUGE hit at my house. I have made this several times. I add more cheese to the top than it calls for and increase cooking time since I make it in a 9x13 pan- good as left overs too.

A Jerky Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2005
Great spicy dish. My husband absolutley LOVES this and I can't make it often enough. I use thinner breasts and back off on the oven time to about four minutes on each side or my chicken pieces dry out. If you don't like it so spicy you may try a 1/2 unseeded habanero. Thanks for the recipe.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
This is an OMG recipe for sure. It was my first time baking an apple pie and I even did a faux lattice crust - Pillsbury roll out crust of course. Zero leftovers of this dessert I made for Christmas. All were impressed. I did the modifications suggested by the top reviewer as well. Very nice looking too!

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Fantastic!! Wouldn't change a thing unless you don't like it too spicy then you may lessen the chili sauce. Great recipe and there were no leftovers. My five year old is picky and gobbled it up (after I removed the tomatos). Thank you!

Buttercream Icing

This is my favorite frosting recipe ever and I've made it on every cake for 3 years. I add about a 1/2 cup less powder sugar for my favorite Hersheys Perfectly Chocolate, chocolate cake. Yum :)

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

I had never had this sandwich before. Although my house smelled of beer all day and I was skeptical, the dipping sauce made it completely worth it.

Cajun Style Blackened Snapper

Reviewed: May 27, 2006
This is a great dish. My husband thought so too. I used a cast iron skillet and it really smoked up the house badly and the smoke smell really lingered, but the flavor is so worth it. I think I'll try to put that skillet on the outside grill next time. I plan to make this over and over! Thanks

Chicken and Mushroom Saute

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2005
This is a great dish with a little tweaking. Canned mushrooms do NOT give this recipe justice- you should use fresh ones and it's much tastier if you're a 'schroom lover. I also used the buillion in the jar since I had it on hand. Also, just before serving, I put a slice of swiss or provolone cheese on top and it all just melts together and it's heavenly! Great base recipe and so yummy- Thanks!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
Pretty good for a box cake recipe. I prefer the moistness of a homemade variety but this was good and a big time-saver sin c I had two birthday cakes. I also used the satiny glaze recipe on this bundt cake.
