Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

I have made this for a birthday cake. I made to go with the strawberry dream cake which is awesome too. I used trans fat free shortening (1cup) and 1 cup butter. I used almond extract. This is exactly the type of icing I was looking for. It's really nice and creamy and melts in your mouth. I'm not sure what the greasiness other posters have mentioned. They probably did not beat it and incorporate enough air. I whipped the butter and shortening for 10 minutes. I can't wait until my family trys it! I also must say I used butter and it's a nice white.

Sugar Cookie Icing

I made this for the white velvet cutouts (on this site) I highly recommend these cookies i have made them twice now. This icing is good, but does need extra milk..I think I added too much

White Velvet Cutouts

These were the best sugar cookies I have ever made! Much like the shortbread cookies from panera bread. I used them for christmas cookies. but I didn't even frost them. Still have a batch in my fridge to use. Definately refridgerate for at least 5 hours.

Strawberry Dream Cake I

I made this recipe for my bf's birthday and it was good. It was very nice. I'm more of a chocolate person. You won't have any problems with the icing, if you let the mixture cool before adding the cool whip. I made the white chocolate/cream/cream cheese mixture the night before, and let it stand at room temperature while making the cake. I used real whipped cream for the icing. It was a nice cake!
