About this Cook
Since I'm still such a picky eater and there isn't a wide variety of foods for me to cook that I will actually eat, I love to cook for other people, especially my family. I enjoy learning new ways to make things homemade and healthier.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! But mostly cookies.:)
My favorite family cooking traditions
They seem to change every year, but that makes it more exciting.
My cooking tragedies
It's definetly not the worst thing that could happen, but one year for Thanksgiving I was going to make the cornbread muffins my family loves so much. It wasn't very long before we were going to sit down to eat, because I wanted the muffins to be fresh and warm -when they're best. My recipe called for 1/2 cup of honey and I realized last minute that I had just under 1/4 c. So, my dad suggested that I used light corn syrup to make up for the honey I didn't have. It was a clever idea, but my muffins didn't taste nearly the same, they were crumbly and dry and not as appetizing, making me very disapointed. I hate to admit it, but later I found a hair in one of the muffins, which is a very rare thing in my food. Thankfully, i found that toward the end of our Thanksgiving dinner, because I was too disgusted to eat anymore.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies
This recipe was wonderful! Due to my own preferences, I put in 1 tablespoon of cinnamon instead of 3/4 of a teaspoon and the cookie still turned out great! Definitely perfect for late fall and winter.
