Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2011
OH. MY. GOODNESS. All I can say is this soup is DELISH!!! All I added above the recipe is some sliced carrots and mustard powder to the flour when making the roux. I also added quite a bit of black pepper. Thank goodness I made alot because now I can enjoy it for lunches this week! YUM.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
I made these potatoes to go along with our spiral honey ham and they were very good! The only change I made was to dice the onions and carmelize them before adding them to the potatoes. Oh, and I also doubled the cheese sauce, which turned out to be too much, which wasnt really a problem because it was SO DELICIOUS. We ended up spooning the cheese sauce onto the cauliflower as well. Great recipe that I will be using again and again!

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I made this ham yesterday for Easter and it was sooo good! It is the only way i will make ham from now on! I used a 9lb. spiral cut ham from Costco, added 1 cup of dark brown sugar, the contents of the spice packet from the ham and cooked on low for 6 hours. It was PERFECT. Try it, you wont be sorry...

Sweet Russian Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
Perfect! This is the recipe I have been searching for and salivating over since I had the sweet and sour cabbage soup from Ella's Deli in Madison Wisconsin 13 years ago! Had my inlaws over for dinner tonight and my FIL had 5 big bowls of this stuff! Said it reminded him of his mom's soup from Siberia!!! Darn, now there will be less for lunch tomorrow!

Oma's Fabulous Matzo Ball Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
I rated this 5 stars because this is THE BEST Matzo Ball soup I have ever had!!! I made my own chicken broth (used only chicken necks, celery, carrots, onion and water) on Saturday, strained the broth, refridgerated it for 2 days so it could mellow out, and then followed the recipe for the matzo balls. They are awesome! I used the Manishevitz Egg and Onion Matzo crackers. Maybe that was the clincher. Im feeling like im catching a cold today, so this was the perfect dinner to have. Plus I have leftovers for a couple lunches! My 3 kids and husband also really liked it. THANKS OMA!!

I absolutely LOVE these! I did not change the recipie at all. They have such a good flavor and you dont even need frosting(but I still like a good smear of it on top) They were very easy to make and my kids love to help out on this one!

Microwave Spiced Nuts

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2003
This was super easy and tastes really good! The only things I added was 1/4 tsp. of salt to bring out the flavor, and as previously noted, I did toast the nuts at 400F for about 7 minutes. I'll be giving this away for Christmas Gifts! MMMMMMM!
