What a great recipe! I mixed 1 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar with 1 1/2 cups butter in a saucepan, cooked until smooth, removed from heat and added 1 tsp vanilla and the cinnamon. I rolled the apples in white sugar and cinnamon before wrapping in the crescent roll dough and poured the hot sugar/butter mixture over the dumplings in the baking dish. Then I poured the Mountain Dew over everything and baked for 35 minutes. Perfection! Not a soggy spot in the whole dish, just soft and moist on the bottom and crispy on top. Everyone loved them! My uncle swore they tasted just like the ones he used to have in grade school. Will definitely make again!
