Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2013
I've made this pumpkin bread many times. My family's favorite! Really easy to make and always a winner! It doesn't have to be Thanksgiving to make it:-) Thanks for the recipe!

Hungarian Goulash I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
The food is delicious but it’s not goulash! Goulash (gulyas) is a soup, this is a stew. Also, waste of time to remove the onion. No need for that at all. I was born and raised in Hungary, cooked and watched many ladies cook stew. Don’t remove the onion, and we never put tomato paste or puree in our stew. IF it’s the season, we might put a yellow or green pepper (called bell pepper here) and 1 ripe tomato in the stew. You can use the same base, the same recipe, and change up the meat. Try it with chicken (any part of it) or pork.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
OK, Let’s see.. THE BEST pudding I ever had! I have to laugh when I read other people’s reviews to complain about the banana turns brown. What? Who cares? This pudding is soooo great it would NEVER stay in the fridge for a couple of days! I made it for July 4th, people loved it, I only had a very small left over for the next morning and it was AMAZING! DO PREPARE IT A DAY BEFORE! IT’S WORTH IT! SOOO MUCH BETTER! One thing I didn’t get: Pudding comes in small package and the bigger one is 3.5 oz. I thought I didn’t copy the recipe right so I just put the big one in it but as I double-checked it I see the recipe does ask for 5 oz. I don’t think it needs that much because my pudding tasted delicious as it was but I might try it with the 5 oz. next time.. which I can’t wait for!!! Yummmm

Apple Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2006
I decided to try this recipe although I had doubts about it (sorry, I am European, got different taste than Americans) Anyhow, it did turn out pretty good. My daughter and I both loved it. It was easy to make. The only change I did was, I put some cinnamon in the cake mix and I cut the apples to little pieces so it would even out. I would use more apples but I am wondering if it would change the texture or not. Any tips?

I tried this recipe and surprised my friends and husband with it. Everybody loved it including American and Hungarian people. It was easy to make. I will probably use this recipe for Christmas and for other holidays as well.
