About this Cook
I am a SAHM of a little boy who is 3 years old. I enjoy making homemade meals for my family. I get bored cooking & eating the same things week in & week out. My husband ends up as my culinary guinea pig, but he doesn't seem to mind. lol
My favorite things to cook
I don't really have a favorite thing to cook. I just like cooking, in general. If I have to choose something I'll go by seasons. In winter I like to make soups & stews. Clam Chowder is my fave. Spring, I like to make salads. The Asian salad recipe on this site is fab. Summer is all about grilling & bbq-ing. And autumn I like to do lots of crock pot stuff.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm not much on tradition. I like to do my own thing.
My cooking triumphs
Considering I used to cook out of boxes, just about anything I make anymore is a triumph for me. My husband would tell you my homemade chicken noodle soup. I came up with the recipe off the top of my head & he raves about it.
My cooking tragedies
Rice pudding, for sure. I don't know why either. I followed the reciped to a tee. I'm not good at baking. It's my cooking downfall. Alas, I'll never be a pastry chef. LOL

Roasted Pork Loin
One of my fave pork recipes. To make a really good paste, try using a mortar & pestle. It will grind everything smooth & combine the herbs with the oil better.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating
This is one of my husband's fave salmon recipes. He just loves the crunch of the pecans with the flakiness of the salmon. I'm not a big pecan person so I just omit them when preparing my fillet. Very tasty.

Pan-Fried Asparagus
OMGosh! We love these asparagus. My only suggestion is to make these just before you're going to serve your meal because if they wilt they tend to be very greasy.
