About this Cook
I managed to avoid cooking for most of my life, which was fortunate due to my ability to destroy pans even when boiling water. I've recently let my curiosity get the best of me, and I'm trying a lot of stuff. I'm suddenly sewing, cooking, making my own shampoo, and a bunch of things. I'm still not very good at any of it, and I blog about my experiences at The Clueless Domestic Goddess
My favorite things to cook
I make some darn good white chocolate chip oatemeal cookies, and I managed to cook my first beet greens the other day! YAY!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is full of great cooks, and I can't say that I learned anything from any of them. I actively avoided the possibility.
My cooking triumphs
I felt pretty impressed when I sauteed something.
My cooking tragedies
I made black pancakes on accident.

Roasted Beets and Sauteed Beet Greens
I had never tried beets before, or the beet greens. I am not really a cook at all, so I can't say that I've ever even sauteed something. That said, I followed this and the beets and greens came out lovely! I was particularly happy with the greens. I used a corningware style baking dish with a glass lid, and it took a little longer to cook. I put things in for 70 minutes.
