Hearty Creole Okra and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2012
This was delish! easy to make and hearty enough for a meal in itself! ... And it freezes great too!(although, it didn't stay long in the freezer before being eaten!) loved it! didn't have any issues with slimey okra and I used fresh and frozen.

Grilled Halibut with Cilantro Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
made this with snapper. the fish needed a little more seasoning than just the lime juice. Used a little old bay. The cilantro-garlic butter was outstanding and will use it on other grilled fish and shrimp. yum!

Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
I've made this creme brulee over and over for the last couple years and it's a big hit each time. I followed the suggestions from CHEFPEON. I do lower the temp of the oven to 350 and cook 20 mins though. turns out great!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2007
I agree that the picture displayed of this stew is not appealing at all. The stew needs something to spice it up. it is rather bland as is written. Added some tomato sauce and used either Tiger sauce or Hot pepper sauce to it to spice it up a bit. also, adding 3T flour to thicken is a bit much. Probably could get by with only adding 1 1/2 T of flour if it needs thickening.

Friendship Soup Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2003
made this before deciding to give as gifts... I used tomato sauce instead of paste and cut down on the tomatoes, but I think the original 28oz diced tomatoes would've been better. Great recipe and presentation... I used the pasta sauce jars (as recommended by another reader) and a narrow measuring cup as containers. worked out perfect !
