Fun with the cat
About this Cook
I live with my significant other, Elliot, my son, Corbin, and our cat, Molly who likes trying my cooking too. Since moving out of my parents' house I've been teaching myself how to cook. The Food Network has since became my favorite channel on TV. My goal is to learn to make wholesome, yummy, healthy meals for my family :)
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new recipes and tweaking ones that I've tried before. There's really no food categories I stick to.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom never cooked much except for on special occasions. Every once in awhile spaghetti, pot roast, steak, mashed potatoes, and other "fresher" yummyness would make its way to our table. Mostly though our dinners came out of cans or microwavable frozen dinners.
My cooking triumphs
Cheesy scrambed eggs, jalepeno poppers, cheesecakes, chicken broccoli divan. I know I'm great at those.
My cooking tragedies
Chess pie... (It came out perfect but I just wasn't expecting SO MUCH SUGAR!!!) Should've done my reseach on that one as I had never heard of chess pie before. All I can say is NEVER AGAIN. I know there's more but I have a horrible memory. Either that or my mind chose not to remember just how badly I screwed up!

Cajun Chicken Pasta
Fantastic! Bf doesn't like mushrooms so didn't use those. Used about 12oz linguine

Easy OREO Truffles
Very good! Chilled the cream cheese/oreo mix before dipping in chocolate. Worked great!

Salmon and Pesto with Rice
Yum yum! Used chicken stock instead of fish stock and a mix of yellow and green onion in place of shallots. Boyfriend approved, went back for 2nds. Will make again!
