Easy Toffee Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2003
These are very easy quick dessert item. I have heard of people using graham crackers for the bottom but I like it this way better. Quick sweet dessert to add to a BBQ table or holiday spread.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2000
This by far one of the easiest chicken recipes I have ever made. It has a fabulous flavor and is even nice enough to serve to guests, just make sure they are garlic fans. I think I printed this recipe off this site 3 years ago and have made it lots, just had forgotten to review it! Love this recipe.

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2004
EASY, EASY, EASY!!! I have made this cake three times in the last two weeks. It is so moist and is even good (though very fattening) in the morning with coffee. This is a recipe that you most likely have the ingredients on hand always so it can be made very quickly and also served warm so no need to plan ahead. I am so glad to have found this recipe.

Melt In Your Mouth Toffee

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
This was fabulous. I have never made candy before. I omitted the nuts because we don't love them in desserts in our household. I spread this out in a jelly roll type pan and then put entire bar size plain Hershey bars on the top and sprinkled that with coarsely chopped Snickers bars. When the toffee itself had set and the toppings were melted I sort of spread them around. I omitted the choc chips too. It is VERY rich this way but not ONE BITE was left!!! Great holiday recipe!!!

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2003
Very easy and tasty pork chops. I did not use the water in the recipe and only baked 6 pork chops instead of 8. They were great with mashed potatoes, good winter meal.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2003
This is one heavy recipe but it is really good. Don't make if you are dieting though. I used brocoli instead of spinach because I have another similar recipe that calls for spinach and I was attempting to be diffrent. Very good pasta meal!

Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2004
This is a very good and filling casserole. I made the following alterations: I sliced french bread into inch thick slices, placed that on the bottom of a casserole dish, filled in any "holes" with more of the bread so that there was a single layer of the bread, then spread the cream cheese mixture over that and put the meatball/sauce mixture, (I did not add any water to this dish.) The bottom was nicely baked, not soggy and the filling was done just right. My husband LOVED this dish, I liked too but am not as big of a fan of "comfort food" as he is but if you are this is a fabulous dish for you. :)

Garlic Lovers Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2003
This is a great beef recipe. I used boneless sirloin steak that I cut into strips instead of cubes and did not use two heads of garlic, just one and I sliced up the cloves. I added a can of tomato sauce instead of crushed tomatoes and didn't add any olives. It was very tender and flavorful plus I am thinking not too horrible fat-wise because I used a very lean cut of meat. We served it over rice with veggies and bread.

Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2004
This is a really good winter time meal. I doubled the recipe to make two...it worked out well. I added plenty of salt and pepper to it, I think it would be rather bland without extra pepper. I also used chicken broth instead or stock and cooked mine almost an hour to get the crust done. Good recipe...thanks!

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
Made these with a great tenderloin recipe on this site. They are perfect for entertaining because you just put them in the oven well after they are prepared. I did not use sour cream but did add about 1/3 cup of half & half to the mixture. They had a GREAT flavor and reheated well too with a little milk added to thin the mix. The longer they sit before baking the better the flavor seemed to be. Thanks!

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2003
These were fabulous! I placed the oven baked ribs in the sauce for about 20 minutes after baking just to let them glaze a little, not marinate or anything, then grilled them for abvout 20 minutes while brushing the remaining sauce on them. They were terrific! Made them with the BLT salad on this site, loved the meal!

Cheesy Ranch New Red Potatoes

Reviewed: May 19, 2003
I am probably changing this recipe like crazy but it is a good change. When I make this I take 1/4 cup canola or veggie oil, put in one packet of dry Ranch dressing mix and stir that up. Then I pour that over the red potatoes that have been halved and bake uncovered for about 35-40 minutes. It is WAY less fattening then the original recipe and very tasty too. Great side dish to "jazz up" potatoes.
