Lori's Beef and Spaghetti Macaroni

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
Good, basic meal. My son and his friend had seconds - always a good sign. I doubled the amount of pasta and added garlic powder and Italian seasoning to taste, as suggested by other reviewers. Will definitely make again.

Seafood Linguine

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
My family LOVES this recipe (minus the 16-year-old son who hates almost everything but pizza). I even impressed MIL and SIL who thought they'd hate it because they don't like scallops. They took seconds ;-) !! This is one of the few things my husband will request if I haven't made it in a while. I make this recipe as a way to use up fresh vegetables I have on hand. I make a few small changes when I make this. 1) I use an extra 1/2 cup of cold milk with the flour to thicken the sauce. Using the hot milk from the pan makes the flour mixture gummy; 2) I use 3 cloves of garlic, minced, and saute with the onion; 3) I add 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese after the flour/milk combination to thicken it a bit more and punch up the flavor. Make sure to use plenty of salt and pepper as well.

Scottish Shortbread IV

WOW!! I made mine into sandwich cookies with apricot preserves and seedless raspberry jam. They taste just like the fruit galettes from Harry and David. The secret is definitely in the brown sugar. Thanks!!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2003
I've been searching for years for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe, and this is it. They were giants when made with 1/4 cup of dough each, and they spread too much for me. I chilled the dough and used my ice cream parlor style ice cream scoop to form balls and baked for 17 min. They are PERFECT now - each 3 inches across, thick and chewy. Thank you for this terrific recipe.
