Grandma's Sweet Slaw

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
Good just what I wanted. I'll probably decrease the sugar next time as my hubby said it was a little too sweet.

Dip For The Stars

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
This was ok but how in the world do you find sunripened tomatoed that are soft enough to "dip" I bought the kind in oil and my food processor could hardly get them chopped. I ended up using roasted red peppers and just a few tomatoes. Is ther a certain kind that other people have had success with?? Also I would skip the cloves of garlic all together there is enough in the pesto.

oh my goodness..these were fabulous! I divided the recipe in half and added a 1/2 tsp of coconut extract to one batch and almond extract to the other then rolled in tosted coconut and crushed almonds. I feel like a pro.

Rum or Bourbon Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
Awesome. I used spiced rum, ground walnuts fine in my coffee grinder and rolled the balls in granulated sugar, I think they're prettier that way. Super good. I had no trouble with a grainy taste.

Chocolate Peppermint Pinwheels

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2006
Something is wrong with this dough. It was way, way sticky to roll out. I ended up just making drop cookies. The flavor was ok.

Brownie Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
I went home for Thanksgiving and forgot my springform pan. I made this in a 9x13 and it turned out awesome. I reduced the baking time for the cheesecake by about 10 minutes, and I didn't have a super thick layer of brownie. It was enjoyed by all. Great recipe!

Pumpkin Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2006
I wish this was more soft and creamy. It was good but very hard and dry like some previous reviewers mentioned. It was still good but not the greatest texture for fudge. I followed the directions exactly.

Golden Yam Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2006
These were wonderful. I used fresh sweet-potatoes and mashed them, I topped them with the sour cream frosting from this site, the tang of the frosting went perfectly with the sweetness of the bars. I omitted 1 egg and it seemed to help keep the bars more dense and "brownie" like. I renamed them Sweet Potato Bars and my office gobbled them up. great and easy recipe. Thanks

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2006
This was wonderful comfort food! I used boneless chicken thighs, golden mushroom soup and Marsala wine instead of milk. I also mixed the butter and stuffing before spreading on top of chicken mixture. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and good this turned out!

Bacon Cheese Treats

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
I combined the cream cheese with a packet of hidden valley ranch mix and a 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar. I omitted the onion and only used 1 jar of bacon bits (I think the amout listed is a misprint)

Vinegar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
Oh my goodness..tasty cookies is an understatement. These are crispy, buttery and amazingly good. The entire batch didn't last the day. I used 3/4c white sugar and 1/4 brown sugar and pecans instead of walnuts. The ease of making these and the common ingresents make these my new #1 go to cookie!

Corn Chowder with Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
Thought I could help this recipe by adding garlic and hot peppers and sprinkling with cheddar cheese. Nope, not so much it was still really, really bland. It needs to be richer, maybe 1/2 and 1/2 instead of milk. I don't think I will bother as there many other better soup recipes ot there.
