Jimmy Dean Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
It was okay. It needed more spice or something. The next time I make it I'll try using croutons instead of bread. It's easier if you're using bread to just lay the slice of bread instead of cubing it. I made it the night before. Good starter recipe though.

The Best Barbequed Chicken Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
This is delicious! My family loved it! I marinated boneless, skinless chicken thighs for 18 hours and used only about two tablespoons of oil--the rest exactly by the recipe. Loved it! Thanks Mary!

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This is a great starter recipe! You can add spices that your family loves to make it even better. I didn't have time to make the biscuits so I used Grands. I added Maggi Seasoning, poultry seasoning, thyme and extra basil to the gravy. My family loved it! Thanks CVernSmith!

O'Brien Kielbasa Skillet

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
This is quick and very good! Sometimes I add some mixed veggies (just microwave and add to the skillet) and the kids like it when I top with shredded cheddar. This is a great starter recipe! Thanks Sher!

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
These are easy and delicious! I used graham cracker crumbs (mixed with melted butter) as the crust because that's what I had on hand. The whole batch was eaten quickly! Thanks Janice!

Red, White and Blue Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2011
It's good but too much cake and not enough strawberries. The next time I made it I sliced the cake in half longways to make a layer. I poured strawberry glaze and put a layer of sliced strawberries and blueberries. Placed the top layer of cake and finished with whipped cream, blueberries and strawberries to make look like a flag. My family and friends loved it!

S.O.P.P.

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
This is yummy and easy to make. I've used O'Brien potatoes (with onions and peppers) when I don't have peppers on hand or don't want to peel potatoes--delish. I've also started adding a package of mixed veggies and my family likes it. You can use turkey sausage too. Sprinkle with shredded cheese at the end--yum! Great recipe to make to your family's liking.

Breaded Baked Chicken

Reviewed: May 11, 2011
This is really good! It came out juicy and crispy. I've used low fat mayonnaise when I didn't have sour cream--tastes the same. I didn't use celery salt because my family doesn't like it. I used garlic powder since didn't have garlic salt. This is easy and delicious!

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
Good recipe! Instead of Velveeta I used an 8 oz. bag of a blended cheese along with the 8 oz. cheddar. I use a 2 qt. casserole dish so it doesn't bubble over. Thanks Mouse!

Polish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2011
This was good. I didn't use allspice because my family doesn't like it. I used two cups of Bisquick and 2/3 cup of chicken broth for the dumplings to give them more of a chicken flavor. The dumplings thicken the broth perfectly. Thanks, Laurie!

Double Crust Bean Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
Very good recipe! I added a can of fiesta corn (drained) and use 2 cans of black beans. My family loved it! This is great with a salad for meatless Mondays!

Apple Dumplings III

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
This is really good! I used puff pastry instead of pie crust. I baked it for 20 minutes before pouring the sauce over the wrapped apples. I took the advice of other reviewers and rolled the apples in cinnamon sugar before wrapping. One apple per person is too much. I think the next time I'll cut the apples in half before wrapping in pastry. Everyone loved them!

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
This is very good. I used croutons instead of toast. I assembled it a little differently---I first put sausage in bottom of baking dish, sprinkled sausage with cheese and then poured the mixture of milk, eggs and mustard on top. I refrigerated it overnight. It was yummy! This is an easy recipe to change to your family's liking.

Country Fried Steaks with Sweet Onion Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
This is just the way my grandmother and mom make it. I omit the cayenne pepper because my family doesn't like it spicy. I don't always remember to put in the cornstarch and it's great either way. Thanks!

Cheddar Bacon Toasts

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
These are good with a few additions. I add chopped waterchestnuts to give a little crunch and chopped onion for added flavor. I also use low fat ingredients and it tastes yummy! I've used 1/2 mayo and 1/2 sour cream when that's all I have on hand. I may try chopped nuts (almonds or pecans) instead of waterchestnuts next time. Great starter recipe --add what your family likes! Thanks Mary!

Best Hot Crab Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
Excellent crab dip! I make it with low fat cheeses, sour cream and cream cheese and it's still delish! I add more Old Bay because my family loves it. I don't always have artichoke hearts or buttermilk on hand and it doesn't change the taste of the recipe at all. I always toast sliced french bread to serve with it. Thanks Joeelleflynn!

Smoked Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
This is very good! I didn't have fresh oregano or basil so I used fresh rosemary sprigs. I put butter under the skin with two fresh rosemary sprigs and fresh parsley. I also put it inside the cavity with chopped onion. The fresh rosemary flavor was delish! We smoked our 5 lb. chicken for 5 hours at 225. Great recipe!

Pizza Pasta

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2010
This is really good starter recipe. I use turkey pepperoni to cut down on fat and add minced garlic. I didn't have time to put in the oven and it was better that way. I cooked it all on top of the stove and it didn't seem dry as other complained after baking in the oven. Top with cheese and cover for five minutes before serving!

Yankee-Doodle Sirloin Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2010
This was excellent! I didn't use hot pepper sauce-my family doesn't like spicy foods. We grilled the roast and it came out tender and juicy. I've used this marinade for chuck roast also then grilled it--awesome! Whenever I don't have beef broth I just add water to the soy sauce. Thanks Laurie!

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
My family loved it! I didn't have red potatoes so quartered small baking potatoes and they were delish! I will try red potatoes next time (my family loves them as well). I didn't measure the olive oil just used enough to coat. My family doesn't care for oregano so didn't add it but felt the dish is flavorful without it. Thank you Sandy for a wonderful and easy dinner! Clean up was a breeze!
