Mexican-Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2014
Okay so I changed it up a little. I used butter instead of cooking spray and added Worcestire. Also I didn't measure the spices and cooked them much longer (40min) at 300 bc another recipe I was making simultaneously called for the lower temp. Still the flavor was phenomenal. The kids didn't care for it but I love it.

Restaurant Style Beef and Broccoli

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
We enjoyed it. I used top sirlion and marinated it out of the fridge for 30min. It was very tender. I had to add more cornstarch to the sauce as it was very thin. I wish I knew of something to substitute for oyster sauce as I don't particularly care for the flavor.

My family loved this. I had no eggs to coat the salmon and I also doubled the honey . It was delicious.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

So good and easy to make. I had to substitute crisp bacon for ham. The sauce was the best part.

It was good. It won't be on the weekly rotation but I liked it. The flavor was good and surprising not a bbq flavor.

Hummus III

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2014
This was very good. I reduced the recipe by 1/4 bc my can of been only supplied 1.5c of drained beans. I did save some of the juice from the beans so the hummus woundn'tbe so dry and I added 3/4 of cummin.

Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2014
My confectioners' sugar didn't blend completely. There were clumps I couldn't see until the icing was on the cake. It didn't have much of a chocolate flavor and was more like a glaze. However the taste was not bad.

Cabbage Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2014
I thought it was okay. My husband enjoyed it. My daughter ate the cabbage. I wish I would have added extra water as suggested by other users. I had to drain it to serve it. It was nice change in a dinner menu but I won't be making it again. It makes a lot! This dish is just too much for my family.

No Fail Pie Crust I

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2014
I didn't have shortening and subd butter. I've never made a crust before but it worked well. I took another users advice and rolled the crust between saran wrap. Best trick ever-No mess. I used the crust for Grandma Ople's Pie. The whole thing was amazing. I plan to try this crust w/pot pie too.

Great Grandma's Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2014
This was very good. I halved the recipe bc I only had 1 can of peaches. I also subbed oats for 1/3 of the flour, subbed brown for 1/2 of the white sugar, mixed the butter with the topping mixture before topping the peaches, and mixed a dash of cornstarch and lemon juice with the peaches.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2014
This alfredo was amazing! I reduced the servings to 3 and my family of 3 had a lot left over. I did add cumin and garlic as others suggested and I used an aged parm. It smelled soooo good. I don't like the jarred alfredo. It tastes bland to me. I cooked a strip and a half of bacon then sauteed mushrooms, ham, and leftover grilled chicken in the drippings. I steamed a little broccoli. I tossed everything together with rotini noodles. Highly unhealthy but amazing!

These are awesome. I wish I wouldn't have halved the recipe for my family of three. I did add a little vanilla.

Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2014
The flavor of wine was strong. I believe a sweet red would be much better in this recipe than the dry red I used. It tasted great as a dip with toasted ciabatta bread. I would have only given the recipe 3 stars but since I didn't have any fresh basil on hand I used dried basil so I bumped it up a star.

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
My daughter and I made these cookies together. I am guilty of subbing butter for margarine. It's just a personal preference. They were delish. DO NOT COOK THEM OVER 10 MINUTES. They will burn. After 10 minutes of cooking the bottom was browned but not burned. Any longer and they would have been toast. Update: 8 minutes is PERFECT! This recipe is a keeper. I can't wait to try it again with the addition of raisins or peanut butter chips.

My family loved it. We do not like Manwich. I used turkey meat instead of ground beef. You could not taste the difference. I also used frozen chopped peppers and onions to make it easier.
