Sugar Glazed Walnuts
I'm sure this recipe has great potential, but as written I ended up with a smoke-filled house and a black mess in the microwave that smelled horrible. I checked the nuts every 2 minutes - after 4 they didn't seem carmelized at all, but at the 6 minute stage it was already WAY to late. I can't imagine anyone needing to microwave these anywhere near the 8 minutes.

Austrian Peach Cookie
I LOVE this recipe - for presentation alone it deserves 5 stars! You can see in the picture I submitted that I used gumdrop slices and almond slivers for the leaves and stems. There is a similar recipe on this site that uses butter instead of oil, but I find the butter makes the cookie halves spread too much - I like to use a combination of both. Neither of the fillings are very appetizing to me, so I've been using a chocolate ganache to fill these (2 parts chocolate to 1 part heavy cream). I find this recipe to be a LOT of work - but I really like it for special occasions.

Asian Chicken Salad
I love this recipe as is... but a previous reviewer made this even better for me. Use white sugar instead of brown, omit the soy sauce, and add a pinch of cilantro to the dresssing. This gives you something very, very close to the Asian Sesame Chicken salad at Panera / St. Louis Bread Company... so good! Whether following the recipe as is or with these changes, I always cut the vegetable oil at least in half and I prefer to use wonton strips that I've crisped up in the oven instead of the noodles.
