Mama D's Italian Bread

Have made this bread numerous times and it's always a hit. My only advice is to add a little more salt than called for and don't bother with separating into loaves until the last rise. I put baking sheets with loaves on top of heating pad to facilitate rising

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

I have made this recipe too many times to count and I love it every time! I put the chicken breasts in frozen and they come out perfect every time. I have experimented with many veggie combos and find I like onion, garlic, peas and carrots best. I have used refrigerator biscuits and when I was out of those I made them out of bisquick and milk. Still delicious. Usually just rip small pieces of dough off biscuit and toss into pot, smaller pieces cook faster so I don't have to wait as long to eat! I love dumplings. I always put some thyme from my garden in there too for some extra umph!

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Fantastic recipe. I didn't have light olive oil so I used vegetable oil and they came out delicious. They look like they came from the bakery! Make sure to wet your hands when forming the logs and use a sharp knife to cut the slices. I cut straight down (no sawing motion) and got perfect non crumbly slices. Easy to make. Will make again for sure!

Steak on a Stick

Delicious! I used real garlic and onion grated with a microplane in the marinade because I didn't have powder. I used London Broil and marinated it overnight. I will be making this again!!!

Almond Shortbread I

Delicious! Made these for my brother as shortbread is his favorite. Dipped some in chocolate and they were a hit. I rolled into a log and sliced chilled dough instead of rolling and cutting. Would defininetly make these again.

Fresh Fig Cake

Very good cake. A nice way to use up all those figs. I pretty much stuck to the recipe. Made cake in a bundt pan, very nice presentation when sliced. Filling sat perfectly in the middle of cake. The only ingredient I changed was using a squeeze of orange instead of lemon juice in the filling....didn't realize I was out of lemons! It didn't seem to make a difference. Big hit everyone devoured it at work :)

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

I have made this bread several times now and everyone goes wild for it. My brother said it is what he wants for his birthday this weekend so I will be making it again. For those of you that say it comes out dry: I have never had this problem, the main reason being that whenever I make bread of any type I never add all the flour stated all at once. Work a major portion of the flour in to start then gradually knead in only what you need to make a smooth dough. I also add 2.5 to 3 cups of raisins because that is how we like it :)

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

This was delicious. I made it twice, the first time exactly as written and the second time I substituted apple sauce for the oil. The first time it was a little too greasy for me. Using apple sauce was not detrimental and I got rave reviews from everyone. I also sprinkled shelled raw pumpkin seeds on top of the second batch. This recipe is a winner, will definitely be making again!

Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Sauce

weird flavor, sauce was good but did not compliment the meat. Gave it 2 stars because I used the sauce on roast beef sandwiches and it was good. Would not make this again.
