Peach Curry Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2011
Very tasty! I used a fresh peach because that's what I had. Cooked it down in a simple syrup of 1 c. oj and 2T sugar for about 20 min . Followed rest of directions as written. I loved the flavor.

Noel Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Are you supposed to be able to get the bars out of the pan before cutting them? That's what I tried… I had trouble with that and my single baked cookie broke into about 5 pieces. Luckily they were still warm and I could stick them back together. And confectioners sugar, I learned, covers up a bunch of imperfections. Gave it 4 stars because despite all the trouble, they still tasted great!

Sweet 'N' Sour Meat Loaf

I thought it was ok. Husband thought it was great. But we both really liked the meatloaf sandwiches we made with the leftovers the next day! Thanks for sharing.

Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
Sooo good! I used half sweet and half spicy sausage. I also drained the fat before adding other ingredients. Also I used half beef and half homemade chicken stock, so I had a little chicken in the soup too. Finally I added about 1/3 c. barley because I'm trying to increase my whole grains. Absolutely delicious. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing. I substituted 1c. ricotta cheese for 8 oz. of cream cheese. Drizzled honey on after it came out of the oven. Yum!

Grilled Delmonico Steaks

Best steaks I ever grilled. Yum! I ommited the salt, used low sodium soy sauce (that's all I ever use), and used Mrs. Dash instead of steak seasoning. Thanks!

We all really enjoyed this. I used brown rice and added cilantro.

Banana Rum Cake

Tasted like banana nut bread with a little zing. I acually could have used more rum, and a little less banana.

Spicy Fish Soup

Looking for healthy foods for my husband, and this looked like a winner. I thought it was pretty tasty, but unfortunately, he didn't care for it. 3 stars is the average of both of our ratings.

Bubba's Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
This is a great basic recipe. I didn't change much. The only thing was I used turkey keilbasa instead of the traditional andouille in order to cut down on the fat (trying to keep my husband healthy). Boyohboy did I miss that andouille. But husband didn't miss it at all. He thought it was fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

El Dorado Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2007
I would have given it 3 stars, because I thought it was pretty good, but not great. But everyone else really liked it. The only things I did differently is used fresh onions (more than what was called for), and about half of the olives. Thanks for sharing.

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Not bad. I really like the spices. I think I'm just not a fan of kidney beans in chili. I may try again with pintos.

Hazelnut-Crusted Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
Very good! I used almonds instead of hazelnuts because I had them on hand. Though I love all seafood, my husband is a salmon tolerator, not a liker. This was the first time I made salmon where my husband had something to say. His comment mirrored my own. Thanks for sharing

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2007
well... I read the reviews and I was afraid of too strong a rum taste. So I boiled half the rum with the sugar, and added the rest after the glaze was cooked. After tasting the cake, I decided I must be a lush because I think it definitely needed more rum flavor. Everyone else thought it was great. Next time, I will follow the directions. Chicken Stew With Coconut Milk

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
Pretty good! I too floured/seared the chicken, and cooked on the stove. The great part about that is the flour thickens the stew (I like a thick stew). Other than that, made it pretty much as written. Thanks for the recipe.

Slow Cooker Kielbasa Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
My husband really enjoyed this-- except the apples. He couldn't get past the thought of them being with the kraut. I liked it too. I rinsed the kraut because we don't eat it too often and I wasn't sure how sour we would like it. But we could definitely do more sour so next time I wont rinse. The only other change I would make is less apples since I'm the only one eating them (see above ;). Thanks for sharing!

Easy Chicken in Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
I added a few spices because I just don't know how to cook without my hand reaching into the spice cabinet. Otherwise, I made it as is. Fresh tomatoes, in my opinion, make the dish. Next time, I think I will marinade the chicken as several suggested. And use fresh Italian parsley for a garnish. Overall, very tasty.

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2006
Took this to a party and everyone loved it. I used pecans instead of almonds (personal preference), and rotissere chicken. I didn't really measure anything except the cream. I just kept adding stuff to the cream until it tasted good to me. I probably used a little less celery and mayo, and a little more pecans. I also added tarragon cause I love it in chicken salad. Definitely a great basic recipe to modify (or not) as you see fit. Thanks for sharing.
