Chicken Piccata II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2005
This recipe was fabulous! Usually when I make chicken, everyone is groaning because it is so boring. Tonight, everyone couldn't get enough of this Chicken Piccata! I will make this over and over again!!

The Best Chicken Soup Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
My family really liked this soup! I omitted the celery & onion, and replaced it with celery seed and onion powder. It was still very hearty with just the noodles, chicken, and carrots, and the broth was full of flavor. My teenage boys gave this soup an A+. I will definitely make this again!

Sweet and Tangy Slow Cooker Bar-B-Q Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
So sorry, but we didn't much care for this recipe. The taste of the sauce wasn't bad, but the onions and peppers were just too intense and not very appealing once it was served. I think the sauce would have tasted better had it not been overpowered by the peppers. I will not make this again. Sorry 'bout that! :(

Cheesy Rigatoni Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2006
I made this tonight for my family and everyone gave it a thumbs-up! Even my two teenage boys! Instead of using plain tomatoe sauce, I used a jar of Prego sauce. It added a bit more flavor. I also sprinkled fresh basil over the whole thing before I baked it. This recipe is definitely a keeper! :)

Easy Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
Oh My Goodness! Even after reading all of the rave reviews, I still was not expecting this iced coffee to taste THIS good! It is fantastic! I made it for myself and my two teenage boys, and we all agreed that it is as good as Starbucks, if not better! We added a couple tablespoons of vanilla creamer to give it just a bit more flavor and sweetness. I know we will be making this yummy drink all summer long!

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
OK...I made this tonight for the first time and had to hightail it to the computer to give it a rating because it was SO fantastic! I took a little advice from other users to make it better. I used approximately 1/2 of a leftover roasted chicken, 1 bag of mixed frozen broccoli, cauliflour, & carrots(instead of just broccoli), 2 cans cream/chicken soup(in place of 1 can cream/mush), 3/4 cup milk (in place of mayo), and 1 cup bread crumbs mixed w/2 Tbls. melted butter for the topping (instead of stuffing). I also added 1/2 tsp. chopped garlic, 1/8 tsp. onion powder, 1/8 tsp. Italian seasoning, and 3 shakes of cumin to the soup/cheese mixture. Everyone in the house raved about this dish! It fed one hungry husband, two hungry teenage boys, and 1 hungry mom...with a little left over for lunch tomorrow. :) This recipe is a keeper! Bon Appetite!

Broccoli Chicken Casserole III

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
My family LOVED this dish. I used plain yogurt instead of sour cream, and in place of curry powder (which we don't like) I sprinkled thyme, marjerum, and basil. I added a bit of milk so it wouldn't be dry. I think it's the olives that make this broccoli/chicken casserole unique from all the rest. It added just a dash of 'something different' and even my teenagers who don't like olives, liked this dinner! I will definitely make this again! :)

Charleston Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2008
This breakfast casserole was fantastic, but I did make just a few changes, based on other reviewers. I replaced the "soggy" croutons with potatoes (I used half a bag of frozen cubed hash browns - nuked for about 1 minute), and since I'm not a big fan of bacon, I used fresh Italian breakfast sausage (out of the casings), which I cooked in a skillet, drained, and crumbled. I used 8 eggs and 2 cups of milk, I only used about 1/3 of a green pepper, and I added a teaspoon of onion powder and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder. This casserole was SO delicious! I will make it again and again!!

Marie's Homemade Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly as stated, and I thought this mac and cheese was just OK. For some reason, my teenager boys did not like it as much as I thought they would. It seemed a bit to "gloppy" and unhealthy. Sorry, but it's just not one of my favorite mac and cheese recipes.

Quick and Easy Pancit

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
I really had to do a lot of tweaking to make this Pancit taste good. It was lacking SO much flavor when I followed the recipe exactly. I tried adding sesame oil, like the other reviewers noted. I used more soy than was called for, and I squeezed a whole lemon into it. It was still bland, so I added extra onion powder, garlic powder, and threw in some teriyaki sauce. That seemed to do the trick. I used bagged slaw to make it easy, and I added a handful of sesame seeds. I will make this again and keep playing with it until I have it perfected. :)

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
I'm sorry, but this just did not taste like real chicken and dumplings. I felt like I was eating a can of cream of celery soup that just happened to have pieces of dough and chicken in it. My family didn't like it either. Sorry, but I will not be making this again.

Different Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
I made this dinner as a special Valentine's Day treat for my family. My husband, two teenage boys and I, give this recipe 5 big shiny stars! The only thing I added was a few dashes of lemon pepper just to give it a little zip, but honestly this dish would taste great with only the listed ingredients! Not only was the flavor fantastic, but it was SO easy to make. The next time I have guests over for dinner, I will most definitely consider making this dish. Very impressive!

The Best Meatloaf I've Ever Made

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
I made this tonight for my family and it was great meatloaf!! The only thing I changed on this recipe was I used ground turkey instead of ground beef (huge beef recall happening right now...don't want to chance the Mad Cow thing!). Anyway...this turkey meatloaf was absolutely fantastic!! Oh yeah...one other thing I did was use a cup of seasoned bread crumbs instead of the sliced bread. My whole family said this was "the best meatloaf I have ever made." So I'm thinking you titled this recipe perfectly! :) Will make this again!! Buon Appetite!

Herb Roasted Pork Loin and Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2008
This Roasted Pork Loin was just average. It smelled wonderful while it was cooking, but we found it to be a bit salty, and somewhat dry. I think if I had made gravy to go with it, we would have enjoyed it more. I don't think I'll be making this one again. Sorry!

Chicken and Pasta Casserole with Mixed Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
This dish was terrific. Instead of the chicken tenderloins, I just used leftover roasted chicken that I had in the fridge. I also added a bit of milk and sour cream on top of the mixture once it was in the baking dish. I spread it on sort of like a frosting, before adding the bread crumbs. I also splashed a bit more milk around the edges just to liquify it a little more. It turned out perfect! My whole household said that I should make this again. It was a hit!

Bowties and Broccoli

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
I made this last night and got rave reviews from my husband and two teenage boys. The only reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5, is because I made a few changes to note. I cooked a few chicken tenderloins in olive oil in the skillet to give the meal a little something extra. I threw that in with the cooked, drained noodles, and then in the same skillet (added more olive oil), I sauteed the garlic and some pine nuts, and then tossed the steamed broccoli into it to combine the flavors. I then put all of that into the noodles/chicken, and seasoned it with basil, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper. I tossed it with the romano cheese and served it. I doubled this recipe, and our family of four ate almost the whole thing! Very yummy!! Bon Appetite! :)

Green Beans with Bread Crumbs

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
Can you say YUMMY? This recipe was simply delicious! Everyone in my house raved!! I used a bag of Trader Joe's french, thin, green beans, which in my opinion are better than "regular" green beans. After steaming them, I coated them with the olive oil first, and then tossed them with everything else! So easy to make, and yet it looked like a fancy dish in a nice restaurant! This would make a wonderful side dish for thanksgiving dinner, or to bring to a potluck.

Healthy Turkey Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
Extremely yummy and easy! I basically tripled the ingredients because I used one-and-a-half lb's. of ground turkey. I made a nice big meatloaf and fed a family of four, including 1 very hungry hubby, and 2 very hungry teenage boys. There was only 1 sliver leftover! I served it with the "Green Beans with Bread Crumbs" recipe listed on this website, and both dishes were a huge hit with the family!! Will absolutely make this healthy dinner again and again!! :)

Glazed Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
These chicken wings tasted good, but they were a little too messy/gooey for me, which is why I gave it a 4-star rating instead of 5. I just don't like to get that dirty when I'm eating finger foods. I will probably try making them again, but instead of cooking them in the sauce, I will bake the wings with seasoning, and then use the sauce as a "dipping" sauce. I think they would be less messy, and just as tasty. :)
