I've made this chili at least 7 times in the past year and have received nothing but the highest praise from all sorts of people. This recipe has the best combination of flavor, subtle heat, and texture out of the many other chili recipes I have tried. I usually use 2 cans of pinto beans and 1 can of northern beans, in addition to the chili beans in spicy sauce. Depending on the audience (read: tailgate or mostly male), I'll cook up an entire pack of bacon, chop it up, and throw it into the chili. I cannot think of a better way to improve this chili - it is literally perfect.
