Menny's Blueberry Barbecue Sauce

This sounded like the perfect way to use some extra bluedberries, but this sauce tastes neither like blueberries nor bbq sauce. We tried it plain as a dipping sauce, baked onto chicken and fish (it was best on chicken) and while we love all the ingrediants it just didn't live up to the flavor profile I thought it would have

Warm Green Bean and Potato Salad with Goat Cheese

This was a hit from the first bite. I used fresh green beans and subbed feta for goat cheese because it had it on hand. We enjoyed this warm the first night and cold the second and it was great both ways

Asian Pasta Salad with Beef, Broccoli and Bean Sprouts

We choose to skip the pasta and serve the meat and veggies over a bed of lettuce with dressing over top. Only changes we made were using chicken instead of beef and plain greek yogurt instead of the vegetable oil in the dressing. This was an instant hit as a dinner salad. We loved the spicy, creamy asian flavors with sweet pops and crunch from the veggies.

Crunchy Pea and Water Chestnut Salad

I used a combination of lemon greek yogurt and mayo and subbed rice wine vinegar for the red. We also found the paprika and mustard strange with the other asian flavors. I would recommend rough chopping the chestnuts to a size similar to the peas just for ease of eating.

Sara's Special Red Potato Salad

After reading the other reviews I decided to use a lemon greek yogurt instead of vanilla but it just lacks brightness. This needs some type of vinegar or mustard, something to make it pop.

Chipotle Pineapple Ham

This is not your typical topical pineapple sauce, but rather a spicy, sweet, smokey treat. I didn't seed the chipolte peppers because we like really spicy and I reduced the suger by 1/4, threw it all in the blender, thickened it on the stove, then poured over chicken breasts and baked at 375 for 30 min. Instant success! YUMMY!

The Best Potato Salad

I used this dressing for a combination potato and broccoli salad. I replaced half the mayo with fat free sour cream and we just loved it. Great balance of creamy, sweet, and tangy.

Brown Butter Pineapple Corn Muffins

I loved the cornmeal and dried pineapple combo, but I had to add a couple tablespoons of sweetener. While we liked flavor, we found the texture more dry and crumbly than we like.

Whiskey and Bacon Banana Bread

I really really wanted to like these. I tried the recipe twice, but the bourbon flavor got lost both times even after I added more. The original recipe is too sweet and overpowers the bacon perhaps some honey instead would boost the flavors.

We Be Jammin' Jamaican Banana Bread

This really sounded like a yummy different bread, but the flavors just weren't there. I didn't make the topping, but most people didn't even know this was banana bread. I cut the recipe back to make one loaf and the listed bake time too long.

Savory Sweet Potato Muffins with Bacon

I really wanted to like this recipe, but the flavors ended up muddled. No one would guess this was sweet potatoes. Most of the folks from work who tried this thought a little sugar might help boost the flavors

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce

This was my first time using tilapia and baking fish and we very much enjoyed the combination of spicy seasoned fish with the dill sauce althought I did add some sweet pickle relish for a bit more brightness to the sauce.

Crab Cakes with Lemon Aioli

I thought potatoes in crab cakes would be an interesting twist, but they didn't turn out to be a great choice. The potatoes overpowered the crab and gave the cakes a mushy, mealy texture, but the spices had good flavor. The lemon aioli was just not good.
