Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
This is one of the best things I've ever made. It outshined everything else at my Thanksgiving dinner--everyone kept going back for seconds and thirds of this until it was gone. I used spicy pork sausage, and I thought the heat from the sausage set off the sweetness of the fruit really well. Fantastic. I can't imagine making another stuffing.

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
The marinade doesn't look pretty, but it tastes great. I served this with red beans and rice--not exactly Jamaican, but the combination worked well. This is one of my favorite marinades.

Restaurant-Style Potato Skins

These was really easy and made a great snack for the football game. We served ours with ranch and sour cream.

Asian Chicken Noodle Bowl

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
We weren't thrilled with this one. I agree with those who complained about the broth--it washed the spice off my chicken. I found the recipe somewhat bland--maybe reducing the broth and adding some heat would have made it appeal more to my tastes.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
This is one of our favorite pizzas. We use ranch instead of blue cheese, but I don't mess with the recipe otherwise--it's a nice, easy weeknight dinner.

Garden Herb Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
This was fantastic. It was easy to make, and it was delicious dipped in olive oil with roasted garlic squeezed on the slices. I used 1/2 TB of each herb, since we like a lot of seasonings. The day before I made this, my husband was complaining about the time I spend making bread, saying, "Bread just isn't all that wonderful." After he tasted this, he couldn't stop talking about how great it was. I usually prefer crustier breads, but this is a nice one when you want something chewy.

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Reviewed: May 26, 2004
The only alteration I make is to use all shrimp instead of scallops. That being said, this is one of our favorites. We love spicy foods, and this one really fits the bill.

Crab Rangoon I

Reviewed: May 26, 2004
These are just okay. I tried the recipe as is the first time, but then I adjusted it because we thought there was too much crab. I just couldn't seem to get the mixture right, and I just don't think it tastes as good as the crab rangoon I can buy. It's just not worth the hassle.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 26, 2004
Very good recipe. I usually hate meatloaf, but I love making this. My meat always comes out swimming in juices, though. I thought it was grease, but the second time I made this I used 92% lean beef, and it was the same. I wonder what causes this...

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
Yummy...the roasted garlic really sets these apart. I followed the advice of other reviewers and used a whole head of garlic, as well as extra milk, butter and parmesan. My fiance, who is very picky about potatoes, absolutely loved them, and so did I!

Barbecue Beef Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
It's a good recipe for what it's supposed to be...basic, easy, etc. I eliminated the onions because I don't like them, but we like it otherwise. My fiance can even make them, and he's a horrible cook!

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
This is a good starter recipe. Unlike some other reviewers, my fiance and I thought it was very creamy. Of course, this is probaly because I ran out of milk and had to replace it with half cream, half water. Next time, I'll add breadcrumbs and some seasonings to spice it up, but we thought this was a good basic recipe.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
The few modifications from the typical oatmeal raisin recipe make a huge difference. I also replaced about a 1/2 cup of flour with instant vanilla pudding mix to make them even softer. I made them for my picky grandpa's brithday, and he raved about them for weeks!

Six Spice Maple Cornish Hens

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2004
My fiance and I absolutely hated this recipe. I think that it definitely needs sweetness to counteract the spice, but maple syrup was NOT the way to go. It just didn't taste right. Maybe honey would work better.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
I've made this for my fiance and I about a dozen times, and we're still not sick of it. I didn't make any modifications to this recipe, although I usually do with others. This has definitely become one of our favorite dishes!
