Coq au Vin alla Italiana

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
Very tasty. I served it over mashed potatoes as suggested and it was the perfect pairing.

Spinach and Potato Frittata

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
This cooks up beautifully. Next time I will add about 1 cup of shredded cheese to the egg mixture and then top it with the cheese that is already called for in the recipe.

Easy Beer Bread Mix

Reviewed: May 1, 2008
Super delicous. My husband and father-in-law raved about it. I used regular flour as other reviewers suggested and it worked out just fine.

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
Crisps up nicely in the oven, although the bottom breading does get soggy. Next time I'm going to try putting the chicken on a baking sheet with a cooling rack underneith it to see if raising the chicken off the bottom of the pan helps keep it crunchy on all sides. I marinated my chicken for a day in Itallian Dressing and that gave it good flavor.

Crab Rangoon III

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2008
Tasty and super easy to make. I used baby shrimp instead of crab. I keep a big bag of baby frozen shrimp from Costco in my freezer, so I just defrosted a handfull of those, chopped up small and mixed them with the cream cheese.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
Fabulous, thick crust with a nice chewy texture. I did precook the crust for about 15 minutes. Then I layered my toppings and spread a little softened butter around the exposed crust. This adds some flavor and makes it look pretty.

Purple Plum Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
AMAZING! My husband said this was the best recipe I'd ever found on the site and I've been using Allrecipes for years. I bought a big bucket of plums at Costco and we just weren't eating them fast enough so I needed a way to use them up. From now on I'll be buying extra plumbs for the express purpose of making this pie. I was worried about the top layer not incorporating with the filling, but it's perfect. It creates a crunchy sweet crust that is to die for.

Chunky Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
Tasty. Nothing amazing, but a good basic recipe. I added a lot of Itallian seasoning and about a teaspoon more salt. I also pured about 3/4 of the sauce in my Cuisinart. I think this gave it a better texture.

Pumpkin Cheesecake in a Gingersnap Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
I used this crust with regular cheesecake on top and my husband would not stop raving about the crust. I also substituted pecans for the hazelnuts, since I'm not a big fan of hazel nuts.

Grilled Chicken Thighs Tandoori

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
I took another reviewer's suggestion and left the marinade on and baked the chicken in the oven at 400F for 25 minutes. It came out juicy and tasty, but was much wetter than the chicken tandoori I've ordered at restaurants. I will definately make this again. Use bone in/skin on thighs & add spices to marinade.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from Heaven

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
These are good. I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening as another reviewer suggested, but they still weren't quite the consistency I was looking for.

Quick Chicken Mole

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2008
I did not like this recipe. I like thin saucy mole and this is chunky and thick. It tasted like a mash of different flavors and never united for me.

Pot Roast in Beer

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This turned out tasty and moist, but the meat was over done. I used a 3.5 pound roast (larger than what the recipe calls for) and cooked it for 2 hours. Next time I'll reduce the cooking time by a half hour, but still use a larger than called for roast.

Oven Fried Party Drummettes

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
These are incredibly tasty, crunchy and quick and easy to make. I took the advice of another reviewer and used half bread crumbs and half flour. These disappeared with in moments of my setting them down. I will prepare my wings this way from now on.

Decorator Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2007
This is the best recipe I've ever found for cookie frosting. I had some frosting left over after making cookies about a week ago, so I put it in an air tight container and stored it in the refrigerator. Today I microwaved the left over frosting for 9 seconds on power level 2 and PRESTO I had perfect spreadable frosting again.

Molten Chocolate Cakes With Sugar-Coated Raspberries

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2007
Excellent flavor. The execution is a little tricky since every oven is slightly different. I ended up over cooking mine even though I only had them in for 9 minutes. If you're making these for a special occation, you might want to make a trial batch first to figure out how the recipe works with your kitchen. I also found that letting the cakes cool for a minute or so made them come out of the wrappers easier.
