Best Baked French Fries

This was a very nice, simple french fry recipe! My potatoes hadn't been soaked for 20-30 minutes in the sugar, nor had they been dried at all, and they were still wonderful! I definitely had to play with the baking time, though, and make sure you spray the foil! I forgot and they stuck, but not horribly. I will probably make these again! Thanks!

Tasty Baked Mac n Cheese

My family and I thought it was pretty good! It wasn't the best thing ever, but it was enjoyable. It was pretty thin at first, but thickened up nicely, though it was a little runny. I did eyeball the cheese, as what the recipe called for looked a little slim, and if I make it again I'll add more noodles, it was a bit thick. It was yummy, though, thanks Eva!

Bacon and Potato Soup

This was AMAZING!! I doubled it for my family (my parents and siblings) of six and the pot was scraped clean! I did six slices of bacon as opposed to twelve because bacon is pricy, but they were long slices and I thought it was a nice ratio to the soup (though you can always have more bacon :P). I did make a few changes. I eyeballed the onion to my taste, used chili powder instead of cayenne pepper, sauted the veggies in the leftover bacon grease, and used a stick blender to make it just a tad thicker. It was AWESOME! Thanks so much for the recipe, I will definitely be using again!

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

First, I really shouldn't be reviewing this because I didn't follow all the instructions, but if anybody out there is like me, they might want to know what happens if they change it like I did. 1) I don't have processed cheese, so I used all regular cheddar. It didn't melt perfectly smooth all the way, but it was tolerables. 2) My cousin didn't want onions in it, so I put in a tablespoon of onion powder in. One problem: I PUT IT IN WITH THE ROUX MIXTURE. I should have thought it through and realized that the onion powder would REALLY affect the consistency of the roux, but I didn't. The recipe says put onion in with the butter, I put onion powder in with the butter. BAD IDEA. It tasted fine, but if you do onion powder DON'T DON'T PUT IT IN WITH THE ROUX! 3) I thought it looked like the recipe would have too much cheese sauce (I prefer a bit more noodle with my sauce), so I upped it to 12oz. It probably would have been better with 8oz, but 12 was fine. So now for the overall recipe: It was pretty bland. Quite a few people really liked it (someone said she doesn't even like Mac 'n' Cheese, but she really liked this recipe), but I didn't really like it. It needed something, so even though this is like the 5th recipe for Mac 'n' Cheese I've tried, I will keep searching. Thank anyway GEPETTO!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

My grandma must've found this recipe a couple years ago, because that's when she gave it to my family. We love it! However, this recipe doesn't have absolutely PREFECT chocolate frosting that came with the one my grandma gave us, so I thought I'd help out a bit: ½ C Butter/ 2/3 C Cocoa/ 1 Tsp. Vanilla/ 3 C Powdered Sugar/ 1/3 C Milk - Melt butter, stir in cocoa. Alternately add sugar and milk, beating to spreading consistency. If necessary, thin with additional milk. Add vanilla. - There we go! I use this frosting recipe every time, and it's perfect for this cake. Hope I helped!!!

Old-Fashioned Pancakes

Me: "These taste just like the boxed stuff, I love them!" My Mom: "These are NOT liked the boxed stuff, I hate the boxed stuff!" ;) So either way, if you liked the boxed stuff and want something like it, or want something different from the boxed stuff, these are the pancakes for you! So easy, so delicious, these pancakes are a hit! :D

Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Eh, it was alright. I was excited to get a recipe for brown gravy cause I don't like turkey gravy and the store stuff is terrible for you, but this was disappointing. Next time I would halve the flour, double the bouillon, and add salt. I didn't put in onion, but I did onion powder, and I added about 1/2 cup of chicken broth. I'll keep looking, thanks

Candy Cane Cookies from Gold Medal® Flour

Well, I don't know quite what to make of this recipe. The cookies were delicious, and absolutely adorable, but so hard to make. I made them yesterday, and formed them today. One hour? Bologna!!! Must've taken three hours! The dough was flimsy and sticky, and hard to work with. However, they were overall delicious and cute, so I would recommend other to make these, but only if you have between 2 and 4 hours. Also, I didn't add the peppermint, cause we didn't have any. I added almond extract and it was WONDERFUL.

Strawberry-Mint Soda

I hate to give this recipe such a bad rating, but I must. This was NOT a good recipe. I would have to recommend people to try a different one. It had a limey tang that left my mouth bitter. After adding about another two cups of sugar, I added apple juice. It tasted a better, but it still left a soury-bitter taste in my mouth. It also had absolutely no mint, though I used mint leaves from our backyard and didn't know how much "1/2 a bunch" was. I hate to give it a such a bad review, but I was very upset after slaving over it for half an hour and getting what I got.

Warm and Creamy Bacon Dip

I really liked this dip. I do agree with some of the other reviewers, more bacon would be nice, but because of the price of bacon right now, I didn't add a whole lot. I didn't have any onions, but it tasted great without it, though I did add salt. This is a wonderful recipe, and I thoroughly recommend it to everyone. I had it with regular potato chips and it was WONDERFUL!!
