My favorite family cooking traditions
During the holidays, my husband and I get in the kitchen and bake the traditional holiday dishes and alway add one new dish.
My cooking triumphs
A dish call Mole' de Olla, taught to me by my mother-in-law. It is rich with beef, spinach, green beans, hominy or corn on the cob, and zucchini. We serve it with lemon slices, oregano, tortillia chips and sour cream.
My cooking tragedies
My crockpot recipes do not turn out well. They lack flavor.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef
Wow! My dad was a chef in the Army and this is almost exactly his recipe. I love how this turned out; creamy, flavorful, and great over buttered toast, served with a fried egg on top and a side of fried potatoes. Good thing we only have if once in a while.

Sloppy Joes II
This recipe is great just as is! I tried it using one clove of crushed garlic instead of powder (I did not have powder on hand)and it was just as good.

Outstanding with the addition of onion, bell pepper, crushed garlic, oregano, basil and a touch of red wine. I also used one can of crushed tomatoes in place of tomatoe sauce. It was very tasty!!
