I love to cook "whole foods". Whole wheat bread, pasta and rice, etc. Nothing with preservatives, nitrates, high fructose corn syrup, or foods with anything artificial. You can reduce your chances a huge amount from suffering heart disease, stoke and diabetes just eating the correct foods. But you don't have to sacrifice flavor. Embrace good for you foods and you begin to crave them!
My favorite things to cook
Chicken, fish and vegetables, whole wheat bread, pasta and rice.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Teach your kids to cook and eat right and give them a better chance for a long and healthy life! When asked by Grandma what kind of bread my daughter wanted for her sandwich, she firmly said "whole wheat", which shocked Grandma. All of her other grandchildren say "white".
My cooking triumphs
Improving my cooking skills enough that my 20 something year old stepsons come to dinner now instead of going out, (they are home from college this summer). They have never done that since they have become adults...
My cooking tragedies
Since I am new to cooking gourmet, usually something is not perfect in the 4 or 5 things I cook for each meal. But how do you learn if you don't make mistakes??? You have to make them to learn:) Take chances with new ingredients, (like whole wheat)...not everything will be perfect the first time.
