Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
Before I leave a review I must note that instead of using 3/4 cup of butter, I used 1/2 cup of butter + 1/4 cup of lard. Because in my experience, everything is better with lard.
That said, I'd give this recipe only three stars, except I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt they'd have been better if I followed the recipe.
This cookies were just way, way to rich and sweet for me. I suspect I'd have liked them better if I was still ten years old. Also, they had a sort of cakey texture, as opposed to the Mrs. Fields cookie type texture I was looking for.
On the other hand, I did find they were much, much better in texture and flavor after sitting around for a day. How about that?
I would make them again only if I couldn't find a better recipe.
