Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2012
This was really easy to prepare and was yum! I added the onion soup mix and didn't have any pineapple so swapped for Apricot Jam as per other review comments. Worked well and would definately make this again.

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2012
I don't generally make this kind of casserole but tried it after all the good reviews. I am glad I did :-). I followed the recipe but halved it, and after reading the reviews the only thing I did was to add 1/4 cup of milk to counteract the reported dryness. I also reduced the heat to 180C and cooked for about 30 minutes. I was impressed with the end result and will definately make it again but will add my own touches. The crunchy topping was ok but needs some fine tuning for my taste. All-in-all a big thumbs up and really quick to prepare.

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
Quick and easy and very tasty! I made this recipe as instructions but reduced the Cayenne pepper. I used defrosted cooked shrimps and added them at the last minute just before adding the cooked pasta back into the sauce. I think this would work well with cubed cooked chicken which I will try next time. Plus maybe some smoked chopped bacon. My only suggestions would be to tune the seasoning to your liking. Other than that, a great quick and tasty recipe.

Very nice, quick and easy! I used Blackcurrant Jelly as didn't have any Raspberry Jam. Yummy as! Also subbed Malt Vinegar for Apple Vinegar. Definately will make this again. Would go very well with Venison.

Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
I really liked this recipe :-). Easy as! The beef turned out really tender after 5 hours on high and 2 on low. After reading the reviews I used reduced salt soy sauce and added some Oregano and Garlic then thickened the gravy at the end. There is potential to make the gravy even more yummy. I didn't find this recipe salty - maybe it is the New Zealand soup mix and soy sauce. Really easy and tasty.

Baked Salmon Fillets Dijon

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2013
Awesome! I didn't know that Dijon mustard went so well with Salmon. I used this recipe instead of wrapping it in Parma ham in Jamie Olivers Salmon and Lentil recipe from Return of the Naked Chef - yum!

Pork Chops with Sour Cream and Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2013
After reading the reviews I added a couple of things to this dish to give it a little bit more of a kick (Garlic and Thyme). This is a great starting point and it is easy to either keep as is, or add your own touches. Really turned out good for me.

Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2013
I really love this recipe. It is easy to make - all-in around 45 minutes and most of that time I was spent watching TV :-). It obviously is heavily biased towards the Tomato taste, but delicious none-the-less. I sieved it to get a smooth finish but this took a wee while. I don't use this for Marinades etc for the BBQ, but more of a great condiment to replace the you get in the supermarket. It goes great with virtually I eat. Steak and Chips yummy. I had to adapt it slightly to the New Zealand items which are available. For the Kiwis reading : the Tomato Ketchup was tins of Watties, liquid smoke I used was 100% Natural Manuka Smoke Concentrate - about 4 sprays but will probably play with the amount when I make it next, Tomato paste was a tubed concentrate bought from the supermarket. The Bourbon was just a really cheap version from Liquor King as it was quite expensive to buy the quality stuff. Other reviews pointed out that it didn't really matter, so I figured try the cheapest first and head North if things turn out good. Which they did, so try it!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: May 6, 2013
This was good. As per other reviews I will drop the Olive Oil as I made the mistake of making this the night before and the Oil went solid as Olive Oil does if you put it into a fridge. All was not lost and I marinaded the steak with the remaining liquid, then fried two minutes on each side, then put the cast iron pan in a pre-heated oven for 5 minutes. The steak tasted reaaly really good. It could be a bit strong for some people, but I really liked it and would make again. It makes enough for several steaks.

Adrienne's Overnight Barbecued Beef Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
This turned out nice and tasty and good for hot beef sandwiches and toasted tortillas. Although too much liquid for my slowcooker but not too much of a problem as i always have this problem so ladle most of the gravy out and reduce to a nice thicker versionm. Definately would make this again.

Spicy Tuna Fish Cakes

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2013
This is a great recipe which you can play with. The fundamentals are there : potato, breadcrumbs to soak up the water at the end, tuna or any fish, egg, onion, salt & pepper. play with the other ingredients. I fried these in the pan and they were perfect. 3-4 minutes on each side. They turned out great.

Tender Italian Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2013
I would definitely make this again. I used boned Chicken Thigh which worked well. I used Panko crumbs mixed with quite a lot of Italian dried herbs. Kept to the recipe with the Mayo bit. Very easy. I baked on a raised cake tray and turned 5 minutes from the end. Yummy.
