About this Cook
Husband. Dad. Friend. Find delight and fulfillment in each of those roles! Cook for one and all. Happy times are created with family and friends in the kitchen. Best fun is Pizza Night – whether entertaining with friends, or just the wife and girls around the table, building our own personal pies and then sharing slices from each other’s plates!
My favorite things to cook
Wow. Only a thousand characters? Let’s see, pizza, stir-fry, roasts (both pork & beef - numerous variations), grilled anything (and I do mean anything!), cakes, pies, cookies, cobblers, bread (we love fresh baked bread, and the way it makes our house smell soooooo amazing!), ice-cream (Oh My Goodness, how our family LOVES ice-cream!!!), waffles, pancakes, muffins, pasta, pasta, pasta. Lots of Italian, Asian, Mexican and Southern flavors influence what ends up on our plates! Creativity reigns and we have a blast working together making a wreck of our kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As indicated elsewhere in the profile, Pizza Night is our favorite. Might just be our family of 4, or perhaps a crowd of friends joining in to help with cooking and prepping an amazing array of meat and vegetable toppings. Vats of homemade dough sit in a warming oven to rise. Everyone has such fun, (especially the kids), loading up their personal pie with all their favorites. The house smells great, wine (and soft drinks) are passed around while Dean Martin plays on the stereo (we take occasional breaks to dance to That’s Amore, or others of Dean’s crooning’s :-). Kids and adults alike have such a great time!

The Best Banana Pudding
This is a very good "quick and easy" Banana Pudding recipe, when there's little time for either Cook & Serve, or, better yet, a truly homemade pudding recipe. The 5 stars are for THIS EXACT recipe (well, with the exception of the 14 banana's - wow, must be a misprint, right? – I used 5). Having said that, I will offer a variation that my family and friends seem to like. I have often added a mashed banana (or more to taste), just after I mix the pudding and milk, and then add the sweetened condensed milk. It gives the vanilla pudding a banana flavor that isn’t quite the same with the boxed, banana-flavored pudding mixes. Additionally, I think I agree with other posts regarding the sweetness factor of the full can of SCM. However, my family thinks I’m crazy and everyone says, “Keep using the whole can.” It’s clearly a matter of taste! So, to recap: 1. Quick - not a difficult recipe to make. 2. Sweet - adjust the SCM relative to the taste preferences of those to whom you plan to serve the pudding. 3. A consistent hit with all my family and friends. Bottom line: I believe it’s difficult to go wrong with this one! Good luck.
