Lena's Pasta Fazul

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
A decent, flavorful, quick-n-dirty version. I threw in a couple of fresh tomatoes since all the gardeners in my neighborhood are giving them away. Thought about passing it off as Gramma's recipe just to make myself look good but thought better of it. Thanks!

Poppy Seed Poultry Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Great way to use up leftovers. I omitted the soup (can't do soybean) and added one very hastily chopped chicken boullion cube. Used a can of chicken that has been sitting on the shelf. Didn't have butter crackers, so I sauteed the stale Saltines some tiny child twirling through the house had left behind. My husband, who hates everything, declared that he liked it. Except the dill. But I liked the dill. Good show.

Chicken Pesto Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2008
The first bite convinced me it was not at all ridiculous to offer a wine suggestion. Very savory, your kitchen will smell heavenly. Good way to use leftover chicken and the jar of artichoke hearts nobody will touch. My husband is going to be home late tonight. Too bad. There won't be any of this pizza left. Bravo!

Raisin Rice Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
This was delicious. I also added lentils because I had an abundance of them. I also added more rice because the chicken was so juicy. I paired it with a wilted spinach salad with a balsamic dressing which came up on side dish suggestion list. Comforting, sweet and salty ... yet you don't really notice the raisins.

Michelle's Coconut Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
So satisfying. I added coconut flakes because I like a lot of coconut flavor. The beauty of the recipe is that people who say, "I hate coconut" probably won't be able to taste it prepared as written. It's also great for "I hate spicy food" people because it was pretty mild as far as heat. I also didn't have any chicken broth so I used a cube of veg boullion, and substituted split chicken breasts as that was what was on sale. It had a very good, rich mouth feel. Some people might want more of a bite, but it was tasty without it. Good show!
