Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
Good stuff! The mayonnaise base is the key. Most store bought dressings have too much of a mustard base. You have to start with mayo. This one's a keeper!

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
Now this is some fantastic stuff! The flavor of my first bite of my (grilled) New York strip reminded me of something you'd get at an upscale steak restaurant. I'll definitely make this steak marinade again.

Simply Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
Chicken came out dry as a bone and was somewhat bland. Will not make this again.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: May 30, 2009
A little time-consuming but well worth it! Great sauce! I loved the meatballs. We doubled the parmesan since we're cheese lovers. I used diced tomatoes instead. I doubt we'll ever go back to sauce in a jar. There's simply no comparison.

Marinated Greek Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
Fantastic marinade - very tasty. I used boneless dark meat sections and it turned out moist and delicious. I don't like green peppers so I substituted zucchini on the skewers. I'll definitely make this one again.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I loved my Mom's rice pudding as a kid but I have to say this is even better than her recipe. I've made this several times. Fantastic rice pudding!

Three-Bean Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
This recipe just didn't do anything for us. It was quite bland with the exception of the oregano. In fact, that's all we could taste. Simply blah.

Chicken with Mushrooms, Prosciutto, and Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
Very tasty! The sauce came out way too thin but that can be easily remedied with a little corn starch and water. Leftovers the next day were just as good. I will make this one again!

Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
A little too much balsamic for our taste...I'd suggest 1/2 or 2/3 the recommended amount.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
An OK recipe - nothing special. The white meat turned out too dry....the thyme needs to be reduced by one half.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
This recipe is OK - nothing special. It was dry and was not creamy even though I added some milk to the cheese mixture. I honestly don't understand the rave reviews.

I substituted ground turkey and added one (1) can of Rotel for a little extra zip. Great recipe!

Marinated Tuna Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
This is a great recipe, however, the suggested cooking time of 5-6 minutes per side is excessive. I'd suggest 3-4 minutes per side at most. There's nothing worse than a dried-out, overcooked tuna steak.

Red Velvet Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
This is basically the same, fantastic recipe I've been using for 20 years and this is the way Red Velvet is supposed to be done (without cocoa powder - I don't know why people insist on adding it). I use 2 cups of pecans in the icing. THIS RECIPE ABSOLUTELY ROCKS!!!

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2008
An average cheesecake at best. The brownie layer turned out hard as a rock. Will not make this again.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
Great recipe! No need to mash the carrots. I used 1.5 lbs of ground turkey, added 1 cup frozen peas, some minced garlic, 1 tbs of Worcestershire sauce and doubled the cheddar cheese. This dish is even better when reheated the next day or two. I loved it!

Shrimp Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2008
I highly recommend doubling the shrimp and parmesan cheese and adding some minced garlic to the recipe. I used whole wheat pasta. If you use cooking sherry ("if you can't drink it, don't cook with it"), omit the extra salt.

Lower Fat Banana Bread II

I used 3 bananas, used crushed pineapple instead of applesauce, and substituted pecans for the walnuts. Very tasty and extremely moist!

Summer Squash Casserole with Nuts

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
The onion needs to be sauteed or cooked with the squash first - too crunchy when put in raw. Otherwise, great recipe.
