Rolling out Sugar cookies and Christmas Fingers with my mom in the kitchen while watching White Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
Baking at high altitude. Preparing pasta and gaining approval from an Italian. Serving apps at a family gathering where everyone Yumms outloud. A firehouse that will eat everything I bake before touching any other dessert.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made mac & cheese out of the box, I wasn't aware you were supposed to strain the noodles. My poor niece had to eat it like soup!

Banana Oat Bars
As is 4 stars. I cannot imagine making this in a 9x13" pan or using 2 teaspons of b. power. For a birthday dessert I made this in a 9x9" and added butterscotch & chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts. I used 1 tsp each of baking powder and soda. 30 minutes was all it needed. For myself I made a healthy version of this: 1/4 cup sugar, replaced the butter with unsweetened applesauce, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, added 2 tbsp ground flaxseed, 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein, and used 1/2 tsp each of baking soda & powder. I cannot stay out of these!! 10 gold stars!

Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf
4 stars with the recommendations for the yogurt and butter. I did swap out the butter for unsweetened applesauce. Even though I used lemon flavored yogurt, the lemon flavor was too subtle. I added 1 tsp of lemon extract. The DH gave it two thumbs up.

Flourless Chocolate Cake I
I've tasted better and other flourless cakes recipes I've tried turned out to be cakes. This was more gooey and I would possibly consider this like a torte? At 5,280ft here in Denver I believe the baking temp and/or time needs adjustment. The middle of my cake was just raw. Tastes better cold than warm.
