Guacamole

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2012
Great recipe for guacamole! The only changes I made were halving the amount of onions and tomatoes. I've also used garlic powder instead of fresh garlic, and it works just as well. It's been a big hit with friends and family!

Aunt Mary's Banana-Chocolate Chip Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
So good! I used 3 bananas and about 3/4 cup sugar instead of 1 cup. I also substituted shortening with butter. The banana bread turned out great! My mom wanted this recipe (minus the chocolate chips) and made it with walnuts; she raves about this recipe and makes it for my sister all the time!

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
My fiancé and I decided that turkey burgers are just not for us. The recipe, however, made it much more palatable. I made fresh bread crumbs and seasoned them with dry herbs and spices. We used all of the egg instead of only the whites. I substituted garlic salt in place of regular salt and a dash of seasoning salt. Overall, the flavors were good.. For being a turkey burger.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
The biscuits came out great! Very similar to a famous seafood restaurant's version; however, it felt like something was missing. I'm certain it was Old Bay Seasoning. Still very yummy despite it!

Spicy Creamy Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
My fiance and I loved this recipe! I used crushed red pepper flakes instead of fresh red chile pepper and added twice the amount because we love our food a little spicier. Also, I sadly cut the amount of onions by half thinking it'd be too onion-y, but should've just used the original amount in retrospect. I didn't have basil on hand, but the sauce came out just as tasty! I added Polska Kielbasa to the sauce, and it was very complementary with the textures and flavors of the sauce. This recipe is delicious with garlic bread or knots!

G's Flank Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2007
Great marinade! My family loves it; however, I had to cut down on the soy sauce because we use an authentic one from Asian supermarkets (which is much saltier than the Americanized Kikkoman one). I had to cut the measurement of soy sauce to almost half as well as the olive oil to compensate. Also, instead of ground ginger, I grated fresh ginger into the marinade, and this made such a big difference in flavor. Still good, nonetheless. It's great with ribs, too!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
These were pretty good except mine came out very, very sweet and not as chewy as I had been hoping. These were too sweet for my tastes, but my brother's girlfriend seemed to enjoy them with milk. Next time, I will use less sugar than the amount indicted by the recipe; also, you definitely don't need 2 cups of chocolate chips! I used about 1 3/4 c. and there were still way too many chips in each bite! Also, I suggest not leaving them in for 15-17 minutes as indicated by the recipe; mine were CRUNCHY in less time than that! I will continue my search for a chewier, less sweet cookie recipe.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: May 28, 2007
Such a great recipe! Thank you so much! I made this for my family for the holiday, and they were gone in minutes! As other members have suggested, I highly recommend using Frank's Red Hot (in original flavor), and also, I left the wings in the fridge for more than 90 minutes (more like a few hours) and they were absolutely delicious! I will definitely be making these on a regular basis. :)

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2004
I made this dish for a potluck in class, and everyone was raving! Thanks for the recipe! I've been making this dish ever since I found it online, and it's definitely a keeper. The only things I changed about the recipe were: Prego traditional sauce (the 10oz one), omitting tomatoes, and using a package of real white button mushrooms. Very tasty! Mmmm!
