About this Cook
My favorite recipes are the one's that are easy and fast to make. I am a working mother of two and don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen. I generally don't love cooking, but I DO enjoy trying new recipes....especially when they turn out delicious!
My favorite things to cook
I love anything in a crock pot and I love italian! I also like new and fancy desserts. (that are easy of course!);o)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always fix a large Christmas dinner on Christmas Day, with both a turkey and ham.
My cooking triumphs
I made the Cheesecake Pops on this website for my sons' class bake sale and they were a huge hit! I doubled the recipe and made 51, and he sold every one of them! They looked gourmet with the chocolate coating and sprinkles. I was pretty tickled!

Southern Green Beans
I didn't think this had much flavor. I added a little extra bacon and even cooked the onions in leftover bacon grease instead of the butter just to add a little more flavor. I used frozen green beans because I didn't have fresh, which worked fine, but the potatoes took forever to cook and I had to add more chicken broth because it cooked up before the potatoes were done. I timed my meal so that this was the last thing to be ready, but it took so much longer than the recipe suggested, we ate the rest of the meal without this on the table. I finished it afterwards. I cut the potatoes up very small, so I'm not sure what happened? Don't know if I will try this one again, but thank you for sharing!

Lemon Glazed Cake
This cake was so-so. I made it with the pudding and used the bundt cake pan and it was a little dry. The glaze was horrible! It was like pouring water all over my cake, it was so runny and I even omitted the water. I made a new batch of glaze, added 2 1/12 to 2 3/4 cup powdered sugar to the batch, a few drops of yellow food coloring and then poured it back and forth over the top of my cake. The glaze turned out wonderful the 2nd time! Not sure I would make this one again, but thank you for sharing!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
**For me, 8 apples are too many and I had some left over that I couldn't fit in the pie, so next time I'll use about 5 or 6. This is what I added to mine: 3/4 cup both white and brown sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 T cornstarch, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg. I also used the Pillsbury refridgerated pie crust dough, which worked wonderfully and saved time. I used one crust for the pie and the other for the lattice. I followed the recipe and poured the sugar and butter mixture over the top of the pie and it made a crispy, caramelized crust on top that was just amazing! It was slightly watery when it was first cut, but thickened up over time. I'm not surprised this pie won a 1st place ribbon!!!
