Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2006
This is an easy, tasty, and flexible recipe, a real go-to whenever pork is on sale. I serve it with baked apples and yams along with a side salad or a steamed veggie for a rich and satisfying fall meal.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
Excellent! We followed this simple recipe with two substitutions, parsley for the basil and balsamic for the red wine vinegar. Everyone at the table declared it to be the best shrimp ever. The triple combination of fresh shrimp from Mexico, flavorful marinade, and grilling worked beautifully together.

Breakfast Sausage

This sausage really is as good as the reviews indicate. I have made it several times and find my favorite meat combination to be 1# ground pork and 1# ground turkey. Key: don't overcook.

The Best Chicken Salad Ever

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
Our family has been making this recipe for years now and still think it is the best! We do make it according to the recipe and appreciate the smooth texture, perfect for spreading on sandwich bread or crackers. We have taken this chicken salad, along with the trimmings, to families in need of a meal. It has always been well received. If you need to pretty it up for public sharing, place in a bowl lined with lettuce and decorate with fresh herbs and cherry tomato.

Soba with Toasted Sesame Seed Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Yum! Followed recipe with one additional step. I placed the chopped broccoli into the collander and drained soba over broccoli. This provided just enough heat and steam to bring out the tenderness and vibrant green of the broccoli.

Cranberry, Apple, and Fresh Ginger Chutney

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
I made this according to the recipe and wouldn't change a thing. The onion and celery add complexity to the overall flavor which sets this cranberry condiment apart from similar recipes. Thank you for sharing this!

Thank you for this idea. We always have the condiments available and the garbanzo beans (for hummus or soup) but I never thought to put them together. 5 stars for idea, convenience, and taste.

Great way to use bulk tomatoes - thanks!I doubled recipe, used ~1t. red pepper flakes instead of cayenne, diced the tomatoes (didn't peel or remove seeds), added 1 T sugar, cooked for 15 hrs over night, and enjoyed a rich, mild sauce.

Delicious caramel-like syrup. Make in deep pan to allow for foaming. I've made this for years, whenever I want to use up buttermilk.

Helpful recipe idea because it is fast, easy, versatile, flexible, and dependable. As-is it is great tasting, too. I have substituted whole eggs for egg whites and rolled oats for instant with good results. Thanks for the inspiration!

Healthy Banana Cookies

Healthy Banana Cookies is my go-to recipe for overripe bananas. I place brown bananas in freezer until I collect three or four. Let them thaw overnight in refrigerator and they are ready in the morning for baking. Substitute different dried fruit for the dates to add variety.

Perfect as-is. Can substitute 1/4 cup + 2T oil (olive tastes good but leaves hint of green) for butter. Can use frozen cranberries, increase bake time or switch to convection bake.

Just make it! No-fail recipe that is pure comfort and ease. Surely, using 3 packets for seasoning and gravy is unusual but they are exactly why this recipe is a winner.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
Perfect as-is. Can substitute almond butter for peanut butter. Use small or medium cookie scoop to form, then flatten and crisscross with fork. To avoid crumbling, give baked cookies a few minutes to rest on tray before moving to cooling rack.
