Louisiana Sweet Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2011
Great recipe. I peeled the sweet potatoes before boiling, just because that seem easier IMO. Also, to suit our tastes, I decreased the nutmeg to 1/4 t, and added in a 1/4 t of cinammon. This recipe made 13 pancakes for me--I guess I must make them a little big.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: May 28, 2011
My family enjoyed this recipe; though we all agreed it was a tad sweeter than what we had in mind. I used unsweetened coconut milk (the only kind I could find at the market)and ended up throwing in more curry, some red pepper flakes, a bit of chili powder, and a dash of cinammon. I will make again, though I will perhaps use less coconut milk and sugar than the recipe calls for.

Broccoli and Cheddar Soup

Pretty tasty. I added a grated carrot for color and used fresh garlic rather than powdered. Will make again. Thanks.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2006
Fantastic! Finally found a recipe that's as good as my husband's great aunt's caramel corn. Now we won't have to wait for her to make it at the holidays! I split the recipe in half so we wouldn't overeat, but also to make the volume more manageable when mixing.

Molly's Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2006
Delicious! I was looking for a recipe to use up some drumsticks and this worked out perfectly. Served over brown rice with stir fried cabbage, snow peas, red pepper and brocolli. By the way, I got a late start so I cooked it on high for 4 hours and it worked out just fine. Thanks for sharing.

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2006
Really great, exactly what I was looking for in a honey mustard. I used it on chicken tenders, so I decreased the grill time by a couple of minutes. Thanks!

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2006
Good flavor, but mine baked up so crumbly. I'm not much of a baker so I don't know what I could do to prevent that next time so it's doubtful I'll make this one again. Oh well, I still appreciated finding a recipe to use up the cranberries I found in the back of the freezer!

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2006
I've been making a dish similar to this for years, though the one I made used regualr cream of mushroom rather than the golden mushroom. Gave this a try and liked it so much better. I used regualr cream cheese and added fresh chives from the garden. Love the sauce tossed with whole wheat penne. Yum.

Really tasty! I simmered mine for nearly an hour so I added a bit more chicken broth.

Classy Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2006
I made this for Sunday lunch since I had all of the ingredients on hand and was pleasantly surprised by how moist and tender the chicken came out. This recipe was so easy to follow and smelled delicious while it was cooking. I'll make it again though I will leave out the sour cream the next time around. I tasted the sauce just before adding it, and I liked it better before it was added.

Penne and Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2005
Delicious! I added chopped garlic and shallots when cooking the pancetta and I usedf half heavy whipping cream and half fat free half and half with good results. I topped it with fresh basil and the parmesan cheese and it was a big hit with my Husband. Thanks.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2005
Pretty good. I didn't have enough room in my crock to add the water, so I just left it out. Other than that, the only change I made was the addition of garlic when browning the beef. Served with fritos, sour cream, cheddar, and green onions for a hearty meal. I like that it makes a big batch because it's good for freezing. Thanks.

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2004
Good recipe. Due to what I had on hand, I had to use red wine vinegar in place of the white wine vinegar and was pleased to find that it worked just fine. I pounded my chops before cooking and found that the cooking time listed worked just right. We had this with buttered, smashed potatoes and a green salad. A good 30 minute meal.

Golden Potato Soup

I love this recipe because it's yummy, easy and calls for ingredients that I typically have on hand. I used cheddar in place of the american cheese and also added another cup of water and bouillon cube. This is a keeper.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2003
I'll be saving this recipe. Took the advice of some others and added the peppers half way through cooking time. Excellent over rice and my family enjoyed the leftovers as a burrito filling the next day. Thanks for a good one, Marge.

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2003
I thought this recipe was good and it was certainly easy to throw together, but my family wasn't as thrilled as I was. They didn't care for the sweet glaze. I'll make it again, but not for the same crowd!!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2003
I thought this was a pretty impressive dish considering the ease of preparation. Also, I liked that it's made with ingredients I always have on hand. Was thinking of trying this with marsala wine in place of the vinegar....We had it with garlic mashed potatoes and a bagged spinach sald for an effortless but yummy meal!

My guy bought a ton of beef sirloin at a sale and I have been trying everthig to use it up! We enjoyed this recipe--it's good comfort food for a cold night. We like ours saucy, so I added more of all of the liquid ingredients the second time around. Thanks for an easy recipe Lorrie

My family loves this recipe and we make it often. I usually substitute craisins for the raisins and use splenda in place of the white sugar. Delicious!

Turkey Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2003
Like other reviewers, I, too added some carrot and corn for color. Also, I added another cup of broth to thin the soup since it was a little thick for my tastes. Overall pretty good, but not sure if it is worth all the fat.
