Texas Ranch Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I prepared this for a backyard barbecue. The dressing had a unique tanginess and was simple enough to make.

Easy Delicious Old Fashioned Coleslaw Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I prepared this for a backyard barbecue. I thought that it needed to be a little sweeter, so I added extra sugar. (I am also the person that adds a cup of sugar to two quarts of tea, so take that recipe hint with a grain of ... sugar!) I prepared in the morning and mixed right before serving meal.

Epicurean Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I prepared these for a backyard barbecue. I boiled two dozen eggs, thinking that my hubby would have leftover Deviled Eggs. I was so wrong! Using real butter made for a wonderful appetizer and these were gone within thirty minutes.

Baked Beans I

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I made these for a backyard barbecue. I placed all of the ingredients in the crock pot. They did not burn because of the extra juice and were a big hit at the party.

Beer Cheese Dip I

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
The overall taste of the ingredients was very good. I followed the recipe, but it turned out to be very thin. Although it was messy, everyone like the taste of it. (Next time, I will add the "wet ingredient" slowly, mix until I get the right consistency, and then drink the rest!)

Drunken Dogs

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I prepared this for an appetizer for a backyard barbecue. It was simple to make. I served in a shallow tray with toothpicks with a little bit of the sauce. I drained off most of the sauce into a small bowl and used it as a sauce for my barbecue sandwiches.

Deep Chocolate Raspberry Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
My husband was in the kitchen and watched me prepare this dark chocolate cake for his Backyard Barbecue Birthday party, so he appreciated the extra preparation. Dark chocolate lovers really took a shine to it and came back for seconds.

Spiced Apples

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
You will not need scented candles burning in your home to have a sweet smell of cinnamon, if you make this for your next party. The guests loved the taste of these simply prepared apples and my home had the scent of, well, Spiced Apples.

Baked Sweet Potato Sticks

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I make a large quantity (7 lbs) for a backyard barbecue. I started out making the "sticks" which were very good. I was having trouble cutting the larger potatoes into sticks, so I decided to make smaller servings of round disks of the sweet pototoes. These were much better than the sticks, in my opinion. The fleshy side that laid on the pan had a slight "scorch" from the pan and was oh so good!

Herman Reunion Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
Bit hit! I tripled the recipe. I have frozen the cheese logs for future potluck parties by wrapping each log tightly and then placing them in a large freezer bag.

Barbecue Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I could tell from the ingredients that this would be an excellent sandwich, so I quadrupled the recipe. The meat was so tender and the taste of the sauce permiated the shredded beef. Freezing small amounts in freezer bags will make for evening meals without the mess.

Sweet-Potato Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
A friend of ours generally will not eat anything made with sweet potatoes. He thought that we were attempting to keep the "banana nut muffins" away from him. After eating several muffins, he still refuses to believe that these muffins have sweet potatoes as the main ingredient. Thank you for sharing.

Caramel Apple Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I was asked to take a dessert to a potluck dinner at a friend's house. This sounded so good, so I decided to make this pie with a lattice top crust. It was still warm as we cut it after dinner with ice cream. MMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! The pie did not last long at the party.

Smushed Apples and Sweet Potatoes

I need help with this recipe. Do I file it under dessert or vegetable side dish? My husband and I are all still undecided. It tastes so great and we cannot talk with our mouths full!

Best Ever Cheese Fudge

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
I enjoy experimenting with tastes sensations and the thought of processed cheese as a fudge intrigued me. All the rest of the fudge recipes are going to the recycle bin because this is the only fudge recipe that I will ever make again.

I made this recipe for a dinner party that was going to involve small children, so I decided to use the multi-colored rice cereal and the multi-colored small marshmallows. Very tasty and colorful too!
