Perfect Lobster Bisque

My husband made this, including modifications but wanted to share. He left out the carrots and mushrooms and used canned crab instead of lobster and it turned out FABULOUS! The only reason I'm including our modifications (and believe me when I read them it drives me crazy) I just wanted to say that the core of this recipe is fantastic and can handle any minor changes that may be needed. Loved it and will definitely use it again, with everything next time, thanks!

Buttered Biscuits

Just what I was looking for, something easy and a recipe that didn't call for lard or shortening. I too didn't have self rising flour and just added a T of baking powder and some salt. Perfect!

These disappeared at our work breakfast function. They were simple to make even though I had to make a from-scratch substitution for bisquick since I didn't have any. Can't wait to make them again!

French Toast Bake

Great flavor, not too sweet, not too dull. Took the suggestion of others and added a splash of cinnamon and flipped the bread just before baking. Baked it longer than suggested and it turned out great, lots of compliments at our work breakfast.

Super-Simple, Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

I have never rated a recipe after all the years of using this site but this one needed another set of 5 stars. All I can say it is worth the extra effort because the onion rings were the best I've ever had. My husband who is a onion ring snob LOVED them. Thanks!

Awsome and Easy! Plus my husband who doesn't share my love for black beans thoughr this was great. I also cooked sone white rice and serve the soup on top of that but not necessary!

Make Ahead Manicotti

This is a keeper recipe. I followed the recipe exactly except threw in some extra cottage cheese that I needed to use up and it turned out fabulous. I doubled up the ingredients so I could freeze some for later. Put them on a cookie sheet to allow them to freeze and then put them into gallon bags so I could pull out what I needed for that specific occasion. Great way to get your kids to eat vegis too!

Fabulous! The only thing I did a little different was add a spash or two of lemon juice. Don't know if that makes a big difference but either way, this recipe was a hit for Thanksgiving!

Baked Beans, Texas Ranger

This was pretty darn good. The recipes was simple to follow and took no time at all to put it together. Since I did not have the sausage I substituted bacon instead. Still turned out great!

Simple Hamburger Stroganoff

Easy and tastes great! I made a low fat version with fat free cream cheese, skim milk, light sour cream and one can of low sodium mush soup. You couldn't tell the difference! I will definitely make it again. Thanks.
