Oh gosh! Everyone keeps giving me what is called a kabocha pumpkin..live on Maui. Wanted to use one and came across this recipe. FANTASTIC!!!! Had everything on hand and it came out FABULOUS! I added a little cumin and coriander. This is definitely a keeper, otherwise didn't change a thing. Big MAHALO for the recipe! !????

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2014
These are great! I also did 1-1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup white but otherwise followed recipe. I added coconut and heath toffee chips as well. In my oven they cook chewy at 13 minutes and 15 for crispy. Mahalo for the great recipe! !

Very nice paired with the pumpkin spice bars on this site. Only change I made was a dash of cinnamon to the mix.

Tina's Pumpkin Spice Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2014
This recipe is fabulous. I hande made it many times with only minor changes. I use 1/2 cup brown sugar and just under 1/2 cup white. The frosting will add sweetness. It's perfect without frosting as well. We grow our own Japanese or Kubota pumpkins and they make for a delicious combination. The only other change Is that I add some allspice and sprinkle nutmeg on the top. At least 8 stars here!!!

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2014
OMG!! Wonderful recipe. I added 1/2 tsp liquid smoke and an egg as suggested by other reviewers, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. Very juicy, cooked medium. I also served it with Burger King sauce used on the whopper that I found online. Easy to make and perfect with this burger. May just have the burger for breakfast tomorrow served as what's called "Loco Moco" here in Hawaii. It's a patty served over hot rice, a cooked egg to choice on top and brown gravy. Can't wait!! Mahalo for sharing an awesome recipe!

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2014
Fantastic and easy recipe! I doubled it and added fresh spices from my garden then topped with smoked pickled jalapenos, garlic and eggplant that my husband smokes himself. I threw in some leftover jalapeno spam, tomatoes and some carmelized onions. I also did as other reviewers suggested and added the cheese halfway and it came out perfect. One other thing was I sprinkled some sea salt over the top after I rubbed it with the olive oil. Took one whole bread to our local parts store gang and they loved it. Mahalo for the great recipe.

Ramen Burger

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2014
Absolutely easy and fantastic. We live on Maui and these are all the rage on Oahu, selling for $10 a burger! Followed the recipe exactly but as advised by other members did add the seasoning packet. We presented it with a teriyaki burger with thousand island dressing made with homemade ketchup and a spring mix. We picked a container that was about the same size and shape as the patty we were going to make. Line first with plastic wrap, place a small amount of noodles then more plastic wrap. Weighted it down and placed in the refrigerator for about an hour. They cooked up perfectly. Not even the 3 minutes called for. We fried ours in EVOO with some garlic. Mahalo for such a great recipe!

Banana Coconut Loaf

Fantastic! I cut the sugar to 3/4 cup and added a cup of fresh mashed papaya. I figured it would be like substituting apple sauce but it was even better. Very moist and nice crunch to the crust.

DASH Diet Mexican Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
I have been on the dash diet for about three weks now and love the recipes! This one is so easy to prepare and absolutely delicious. I also did not have pablano peppers so substituted some green bell pepper. I also used half a fresh tomato along with one can of diced tomatoes, one can of sloppy joe sauce and about a half cup of fresh chopped zuccini. I agree that you should wait until the last 10 minutes or so before adding the cheese as it was way too browned. All in all , a wonderful meal that I will be saving to my favorites! Thanks for the recipe!
