About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Soups. I love to cook soups. Chicken soup, lentil soup, tomato soup, beef barely, white bean and when I'm feeling ambitious I'll serve my soup with a homemade loaf of whole grain or white bread. I have quite a variety of salads as well. I like a good hearty salad....
My favorite family cooking traditions
So far my mother, my sister and I are pretty well known for our Apple pies. Our chocolate chip cookies are pretty delicious as well. My mother is an amazing, make-it-from-scratch no recipe type of lady. I always tell her she's ruined dine-out eating for me. If I go out, I try and stay away from anything she would normally make as restaurant food never compares to Ma's cooking.
My cooking triumphs
Not really sure. I do know, however, if it's a soup very seldom mess it up!
My cooking tragedies
Ugh, I'm pretty terrible with finicky pastry, aesthetically pleasing desserts and or cakes. Maybe it's because I don't have the patience for them.

Flourless Oatmeal Blueberry Pancakes
We had just picked fresh blueberries and my son wanted pancakes. I didn't want to feel like I was eating dessert for dinner, and sometimes that's how I feel with pancakes. I looked around, saw this recipe and gave it a shot. Took the advise of other reviewers and put the flour in a processor for a finer texture. Also blended some blueberries in the batter then tossed a few handfulls of whole blueberries in and mixed them. As long as u keep a timer of 2 1/2 minutes around and flatten them a wee bit when first placed on the griddle, u won't have a problem with doughy cakes.Keep them relatively small too so u don't have a problem with breaking as they flip. Wonderful recipe. My entire family loved it and ate them right up. I will certainly be making them again and adding nuts, seeds, an fruits of all sorts when I do. I can see these breakfast pancakes being an awesome breakfast bar as well. Thank u for your research and thank u for sharing!!

Ciabatta Bread
Easy, easy, easy bread to make. I enjoy making this several times a week and anything left over makes lovely grilled cheese sandwiches or toast, yum!
