Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
Amazing! These were so moist and very, very good. My kids couldn't wait for them to be frosted and ate them without and were quick to let me know that they were so good that they didn't need frosting. I will definitely be making these again!

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
This was a huge hit with my entire family! My husband said, "This is the first pork chop that I have ever liked!" The kids loved them too. It was so easy that I can throw this together before work and set it to low and double the cooking time like many others have suggested. I really like that this recipe was not a barbecue-based pork recipe.

Pumpkin Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
This recipe is awesome! It never fails. The only drawback is that this cannot be canned and stored in the pantry, it has to be refrigerated, but that is not the fault of the recipe, that is just the recommendation of the USDA guideline because of the viscosity and the acidity, or in this case the lack thereof. The recipe makes four 1/2 pint jars. This is always a huge hit at home and as a gift!

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2013
Amazing recipe! I love it and will never buy commercially prepared Alfredo sauce again! This recipe holds up well to mild changes such as adding different spices and cutting with milk a bit. Simply the best Alfredo sauce ever!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2013
My family loved these and I will never buy a sauce in a can again. It is an easily adaptable recipe. I cook all my ground beef ahead of time so I can buy in bulk (on a budget) and so I can thaw and go (working mom). I used dried onion, a blend that I bought at one of those parties, and a little garlic bread seasoning in place of the garlic powder. I reconstituted the onions and then threw everything in a big microwaveable bowl and mixed well. I microwaved until heated through. My kids ate seconds and went on and on about these. So easy.

Kay's Shortbread

Easy and delicious! Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty, the dough is stiff and I found that it was easier to work with my hands. It was delightful when finished!

Butter Cream Frosting II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2013
This recipe is simple and yields a nice spreadable frosting. It is easily adaptable. My son wanted some lemon frosting so I replaced the the vanilla with lemon extract and added an additional two teaspoons and it did not ruin the frosting. I also used half and half instead of milk. For my tastes, I wish there was a bit more of a buttery flavor so I will use butter flavored Crisco next time as one reviewer recommended.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2014
This is an amazingly simple recipe. The muffin is light and fluffy-not a dense muffin at all. The cinnamon topping is wonderful! I used fresh blueberries, but I am sure frozen can be used as well.

Grandma Oma's Pickled Okra

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2014
Amazing! My family loves these. This is a very inexpensive way to preserve fresh okra. I had never tried to do anything like this and my very first batch turned out perfectly. I did not add anything to this recipe-It is perfect the way it is!

Unstuffed Cabbage Roll

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
My family is crazy about this recipe! I am too because it is super easy! I make rice and serve it over rice. I am sure mashed potatoes or noodles would be amazing as well. I really feel that this recipe needs more salt and pepper, but that is something that can be added to taste. I use tomatoes that have garlic/oregano/ and onions added-which improved the flavor of the dish the second and subsequent times that I have made it. My favorite aspect of this dish is that I can make it on a school/work night with very little effort.
