Aunt Betty's French Dressing

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
Wanted to make a recipe that called for French dressing and none in the house! Found this recipe and will never buy it from a store again. Super easy and delicious!!! Thanks so much!

Bacon Cabbage Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
Absolutely DELICIOUS just as written! I've made this numerous times and it's always a huge hit in our house. Leftovers are almost even better than the first day. Yummy!!!

Mexican Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
Gave it 4 stars, because I had to add a bunch of seasoning to the mix. Added cumin (2 tsp), chili powder (1 tsp), and salt (2 tsp) and it was still a little bland. Then I added some homemade taco seasoning (2 T) and cayenne (1/2 tsp). DELICIOUS after the seasonings were added! This is a great building block recipe. You can spice up or down. Yummy!!!

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2008
I give it a 5 star rating!!! Delicious! Based on personal preference only, I decreased the Miracle Whip to 1 1/4 cup, sugar to 1/4 cup and the mustard by half. I'm sure it's perfectly fine as written, but this is just the way my family prefers.

Caramelized Onion and Horseradish Smashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
Yummy side dish! I did have to add more 1/2 & 1/2 to make it creamy enough and also a bunch more horseradish, because we like spicy! :)

Horseradish Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
Overall, this was a tasty dish! When I make it next time I'm going to add more seasoning to the meatballs themselves, but the sauce was just perfect.

Hot Chicken Sandwiches II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
I made this yesterday and it's wonderfully easy and tastes great.....until you put it on the bun. It was carb overload for me and most of my family. I would recommend eating this as a stand alone casserole because it was delicious all alone!

Pasta Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2006
FANTASTIC recipe!!! I made it exactly as written and thought it was perfect. Hubby wishes it had a little more sauce, but he thinks that about 80% of recipes! I loved the ricotta mixture and think that made it an outstanding recipe, instead of mediocre. Also, it's sooooo easy & you can even refrigerate or freeze ahead of time. Love it, love it, love it!

The EASIEST recipe every & SOOOOOOO delicious & healthy! I didn't have any lemon, so I omitted it and it wasn't even missed. FYI - those doing Weight Watchers, this FILLING meal is 3 pts/svg! Wow!

Chicken Papadoris

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2005
FABULOUS! If I could give this 10 stars, I would! I made it EXACTLY as written and it's perfect. The only change possibly needed is to the curry for "heat". Perfect for serving to my 8yo son, as is....would up the amount of curry if it was for just my husband and I. Can't go wrong with this one!!!! YUMMY!! Thanks Mr. Anatooskin!

Crab Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2005
GREAT dip with some changes! I used an 8 oz pkg of cream cheese, 1 pound can of crab meat (fresh-Phillip's), and also added 1 T horseradish, 1 T Old Bay seasoning and 1/4 cup colby jack. I made it the way the recipe originally stated and it was very boring. We LOVE the taste of crab, but needed some more zing!

Boiled Peanuts

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
The trick to this recipe is to use a LARGE pot if you're going to do 5 pounds of peanuts. You won't have any fear of running out of water if they have plenty of water to begin with. I added 4 beef boullion cubes to the water to make it more rich. This yankee LOVES boiled peanuts!!!!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: May 16, 2005
Good as written, but also delicious when cutting the sugar down to 1/4 cup, oil down to 1/4 cup and using 1/2 cup of RICE wine vinegar! Less sugar & fat, but just as yummy! I also use the dressing sparingly...a little does a long ways! Thanks so much!

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 1, 2005
FABULOUS! I made a few changes. I used only 1 Tbsp of oregano. Also used only 1/2 cup of olive oil and then a 1/2 cup of balsamic vinegar to cut down on the fat. In my opinion, you should NOT use white vinegar instead of balsamic! There's a huge taste difference between the two!!! In fact, I recommend using a well aged balsamic for optimum flavor. This pasta salad got rave reviews at the two parties I brought it to this weekend! Thanks!

These were just ok when they came directly from the oven. After sitting and cooling, they were very dry. I definitely will not be making again.

Ham and Asparagus Fettuccine

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2005
I'm compromising with my husband on this one. I didn't care for it at all (WAY too rich, even using half and half instead of heavy cream), but my husband thought it good. If I make this again (doubtful), I'd definitely use regular milk, half the butter and go from there.

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2005
I made 3 different versions of this for Easter. I made one change on all of them - I used 6 eggs instead of 4. The first casserole was sausage, like in the recipe and it was very good. The 2nd was using lump crab meat (8 oz) - I used 1 tsp of Old Bay in place of the salt - DELICIOUS! The last was a "veggie" version - instead of meat, I used mushrooms, fresh tomato, green onions and green pepper - very yummy! My personal favorite was the crab meat one, but they were all super easy and a big hit at our Easter Breakfast! Thanks!

EXCELLENT! I made it exactly as stated in the recipe and it's perfect! You could use any number of variations if you're so inclined....add cheese, bacon, peas, etc. Whatever you have on hand or are in the mood for. Thanks so much for a super recipe!

Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2004
We LOVE this recipe, but it is very salty if made with CONDENSED beef broth. We just happen to like it that way and use it to offset more bland meat dishes. If you don't want it so salty, you need to dilute the broth. I also have to bake it longer than the hour...usually at least an hour and a half. Enjoy!

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Even my picky 7yo son LOVED this recipe! After reading previous reviews, I changed the following: replaced the salt and chili powder with a packet of taco seasoning and replaced taco sauce with enchilada sauce. Yummy!!!
