A wonderful, elegant, easy and adaptable recipe. I do fennel seed and lemon rind for dinner parties, choc chip for kiddies and almond extract plus chopped almonds for variation.
To handle the sticky dough I split the dough into 4 sausages shaping them with damp hands onto 2 baking sheets. I also wash my hands between shaping each sausage.
