Mom's Country Gravy

I use this recipe for biscuits and gravy, but add 2 tbsp. of butter to the sausage grease and use cornstarch instead of flour.

German Pancakes II

I added powered sugar and nutmeg before serving. Delicious!! Made it again, but this time I added sauteed apples and drizzled maple syrup over it before it was served!

Cranberry Spinach Salad

I'd give this 10 stars if I could. This was delicious!! The only thing I changed was to use Splenda instead of sugar. New cooks; don't take shortcuts - make sure you toast the pecans!!!

Sausage, Peppers, Onions, and Potato Bake

This is very similar to a recipe that I use; only I grill everything and cook the potatoes, onions and peppers in olive oil in a pan until they are crispy. I did try this recipe in the oven, but thought there was too much liquid. Next time, I'll omit the liquid and cook my vegtables in olive oil until cripsy and then add the cooked sausage.

Grilled Chicken Salad with Seasonal Fruit

Great salad! Instead of vegtable oil, I used extra virgin olive oil, honey roasted almonds, Splenda(instead of sugar) and of course, strawberries.

Ben Lippen School Coffee Cake (Mrs. Hathaway's recipe)

The cake had good flavor, but the topping was "lackluster". Doubling the topping is recommended and use brown sugar instead of white. Also, I drizzled some almond flavored icing over the top and since I had fresh sliced strawberries, added those too!

Amish White Bread

Excellent bread and so very easy and quick to make. I used 1/4 cup of sugar as others had suggested (I used Splenda instead), but will make it next time with the stated 2/3 cup. Definitely a recipe to keep!!
