Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2006
These were good cookies, but they are not chewy as advertised. I was expecting something similar to a molten chocolate cookie - chewy on the outside and oozy on the inside. What I got was more like very dense cakey cookies. No complaints because it was chocolate!

Cheesy Catfish

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
This was a nice, quick and tasty recipe. I found the seasoning a little bit bland, I would add some garlic next time and use freshly ground pepper. I cooked it 15 minutes only, then another 4 minutes under the broiler and it was perfectly cooked. I also found it a little bit greasy - next time I will try and cut down on the margarine, and perhaps serve with lemon to cut the grease.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2005
I followed the recipe almost to a tee. Added vanilla and doubled the oatmeal. These turned out alright. A nice hearty version of a peanut butter cookie. I disagree with another reviewer about getting a large number of cookies on one pan....mine spread a lot to about 5 inches wide, so make sure you leave enough room for them.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 1, 2005
These are excellent cookies! I made them about double the size suggested, and took them out of the oven when they had just become golden (still pretty uncooked inside), and let them sit on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. They came out perfectly chewy!

Macadamia-Crusted Sea Bass with Mango Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2005
great recipe! we were in the boonies so we couldn't find half the ingredients....used pecans instead of macadamia nuts, mango chutney instead of real mango, and frozen haddock instead of sea-bass. It still turned out great!

White Chocolate Cake

Great recipe for icing. I used it on a chocolate layer cake and it looked very classy.

Herbed Pork and Apples

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2004
I used to hate pork until I tried this recipe. The herb rub really soaks flavor into the meat. I used poultry seasoning as the rub instead since I didn't have all the individual spices on hand.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2004
These are the best potatoes! If you run out of honey, you can use brown sugar for a similar effect (not quite as good).

Mexican Style Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2004
Tasted great, but didn't hold together well. Texture was a little bit too grainy...needs more flour in the recipe

Seven Layer Tortilla Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2004
With a few changes as suggested by others, this recipe was delicious! I used a can of refried Pinto beans instead of the canned Pintos in the recipe, spicy salsa, chopped jalapenos in both bean mixtures, a layer of beef with taco seasoning and onions. I baked the bottom 4 tortillas a little bit beforehand to keep them from getting soggy, and baked the whole thing in a springform pan.
