About this Cook
I'm a man. I can cook, make my own wine, and rebuild a small block Chevy engine.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking Italian and New Orleans traditions. I am also a pressure canning fanatic and do my best to can full meals like stews, chili, and soups to have at the ready for quick meals.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sicilian grandmother's recipes are cherished. They were reverse engineered by my mother, who would translate what a "pinch" or "just a little bit" of an ingredient was by having my grandmother toss it onto a piece of paper. She would then pour the ingredient it into a measuring cup or spoon and create the recipe. Thanks mom.
My cooking triumphs
Shrimp Creole, Crab Bisque, File Gumbo, and more for 20 members of our wine club at our home.
My cooking tragedies
Unfortunately, there is a 1,000 character limit in this text field. I was cooking grape jelly from grapes handpicked from my back yard and was distracted from the stove for a few minutes. Please don't make me recall the results.

The Ultimate Chili
I wasn't expecting much since this appeared to be a simple recipe w/ no special ingredients, but it was amazing. Thanks for posting.

Red Snapper Livornese
I am generally not a fan of fish, but this very tasty. I will make it again soon. I used flounder and a whole 28 oz can of plum tomatoes (drained).

Meatball Nirvana
Love the burn. Crushed red pepper provides just enough heat to make these meatballs unforgettable. If you are serving red wine with this recipe I'd avoid heavier wines like cabernet, malbec and shiraz because they accentuate the burn.
