Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2012
This was pretty good but I made it my own. I used a homemade crust (I always use this member's recipe http://allrecipes.com/recipe/pizza-dough-i/detail.aspx) I used ranch since we don't care for bleu cheese and limited the amount to 3/4 cup (just enough to cover the crust and trust me that's all you need) I also only used 3/4 cup Franks Hot Buffalo sauce. I topped it with sliced red onion and black olives and brushed the crust with olive oil a few minutes before I took it out of the oven. Something about this pizza was just lacking - maybe it needed more toppings or some cheddar The crust was awesome though! I totally recommend that Pizza Dough I recipe.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2012
This is really good! I used tips from other reviews: cut the oil to 1/2 cup, added sweetened applesauce (I meant to add 4 oz aka 1/2 cup but accidently put the entire can - 8oz! I was sure it would be ruined but it was still moist and yummy without being oily!) I also added chopped walnuts and an extra 1/2 tsp cinnamon. I used 5 5/8 x 3 1/8 inch bread pans (all I had) and wrapped them as gifts for friends and family. The only reason I didn't give this recipe 5 stars is because it is not quite what I expected - I really wanted a more velvety "pumpkin" texture but then again, this is bread not pumpkin pie. Next time I may add a bit more pumpkin puree and see what happens. I drizzled cream cheese icing on the top of one loaf but actually like it better without it (it's just unnecessary - the bread is pretty and sweet without the added frills) Oh, and it DOES taste even better the next day!

Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2012
These were pretty good. I doubled the recipe (lots of boys to feed!)and took another member's advice of adding 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 tsp cinammon, and 1/4 cup brown sugar. I topped each muffin with a thin slice of strawberry and sprinkled with a little brown sugar and cinammon before baking. They came out real pretty. My only critique is that the texture isn't real "bready" like you would expect a muffin to be (I was thining banana bread density), it's a little harder almost like the outside of a biscuit..yummy though! I'll try these again for sure, maybe add another 1-1.5 tsp baking powder.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2012
Outstanding!! I followed the advice of another member and replaced the water with a mushroom soup-canful of whole milk, added one package of brown gravy mix, used fresh sliced mushrooms, and browned the stew beef in olive oil for just a minute before baking at 375 for 45 minutes. I could not be any more impressed with this recipe. Everyone loved it! Thank you! (we had ours with Grands buttermilk buscuits.. mmm!)

Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
These were great and really quick to make, just very salty. Next time I'm gonna use only 1/2 tbsp of seasoning salt.

Seven Layer Dip II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
This is delicious and super easy to make. I brought it to a party and people crowded around it until it was gone. I added diced bell peppers and red onions to mine. Excellent recipe thanks!

Breaded Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
These were delicious! I added 4 tbsp of grated parmesan cheese to the bread crumb mixture. Everyone said they're the best chicken tenders they've ever had! I took another member's recommendation of using skim milk in place of buttermilk for a lower fat recipe - it tastes just as good. I totally recommened these 5/5*

Guacamole

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
Delicious! This was my first attempt at making quac and it came out awesome. You can really taste the lime without it being too overpowering and the cayenne gave it a great kick without being too hot (I don't like anything too spicy). I doubled the recipe and put it in jars to give to family. Everyone loved it.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sushi Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2012
I made this for my boyfriend's 2 year old who is an extremely picky eater and he actually ate it! :) I made two 'sushi rolls' and put them on the plate as 'eyes' and sliced black olives (his FAVORITE) in half and made a nose and a mouth with them. I figured he might try something new if I made it fun - it worked! Thanks so much! This was fun to make too.

Easiest Teriyaki Marinade Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2012
Sorry but we weren't fans on this! One of the reviews I read said that it wasn't too sweet but my boyfriend and I thought it was WAY too sweet. It was like eating candied pork. In all fairness, if you DO like very sweet meat, it marinates well and grilled beautifully (thats why I gave two stars instead of one). Thanks for the recipe, it was worth a shot! That's the fun in cooking! :)

Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2012
Outstanding!! I followed the recipe exactly except for adding a little cracked black pepper to the parmesan mixture and combining the melted butter and eggs before dipping the meat. It smelled so good while it was cooking. Ill make this again for sure!

Cheese Onion Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2012
There were only two of us so I used half a loaf of french bread. Then I cut it in half lengthwise and topped it with garlic/onion/butter mixture and parmesan/mozzarella/mayo mixtures as directed. It was AWESOME! The only change I will make for next time is use less mayo (I would've liked the cheese to be a little 'tighter', it was very creamy, yummy though!) maybe 3/4 cup instead of a full cup.

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2012
We loved this! It was the perfect density - not too thick and not too thin, and chewy with just enough crisp. Making it was very simple too. We had enough dough to make two medium pizzas. This ones a keeper.

Fluffy Pancakes

These were the prettiest pancakes I've ever made - thick and firm and beautifully golden - but very bready! I won't make these again just because they were SO dense..

Best Chicken Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2012
Came out great! Chicken was very tender and juicy. I used 1 1/4 cup sour cream for 4 servings and it was WAY too mouch sour cream.. next time I will opt for 3/4 cup. I added a packet of dry ranch mix into the sour cream to give it some flavor and it added an awesome kick. I also threw in a couple teaspoons of black pepper and oregano into the crushed corn flakes.
