Carrots with Dried Cherries

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2007
I haven't been eating my veggies lately. Tried this recipe, very good. Used craisins and didn't have honey so used brown sugar. Yum. Also, I don't like cooked veggies so much so I just melted the butter and sugar, added the craisins. I let that cook into a sauce and just tossed the baby carrots in the sauce. Not sickening sweet at all, nice compliment to the carrots. Definitely will make again!

Banana-Nut Corn Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
So goood!!! I was actually looking for an easy banana bread recipe. I made muffins and added a couple tablespoons of honey for sweetness. I can't believe how amazing these taste! I didn't mash the bananas ahead of time. I just cut them into small pieces and mashed them into the corn bread mix. It turned into a nice batter. I halved the recipe and added water since that's the kind of cornbread I had on hand.

Candy-Topped Cupcake Cones

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I've made these before with one change: pour the batter into the muffin tin and top with the cones. Press the cones down a little to stabilize them. Somehow the batter expands into the cone

Good. Don't like peas, so I stir fried some broccoli. I added a splash of soy sauce and a little ginger too. Yum.

Salsa I

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
I tasted it as is, which I was surpised that it tasted like salsa with so few ingredients. I did add a few generous shakes of hot sauce to my taste but it was definitely fine as written

Gnocchi with Sage-Butter Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I found this recipe trying to duplicate sage-butter sauce I tasted on pumpkin ravioli. This wasn't quite what I was looking for but equally as good. I used about 1/4 cup of olive oil and a generous tablespoon of butter. I also added a few extra cloves of garlic, and also some thyme with the sage. Very, very good. I didn't have an gnocci so I served over tortalini.

Dutch East Chicken Wings and Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2007
This came out excellent. I didn't have any tomato soup, just used a can of tomato paste watered down. Also didn't have any tumeric so I substituted with onion and garlic sazon. For the rice, I used whole cloves and subbed the almonds for craisins. I also used basmati and the rice came out subtle sweet. Overall, I loved the dish and it was easy to make. Next time I might try to make the chicken in a slow cooker.

Sausage-Stuffed Loaf

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
So good. I cooked it in a loaf pan. I used fresh spinach and minced garlic because that is what I had on hand. Also I didn't use any cheese--it still tasted great!

Sweet Sausage Marsala

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2006
This was absolutely delicious and quick. I used spicy tomato chicken sausage, fresh linguini, and frozen peppers and onions and the flavor was phenomenal. I used about 1/4 cup of marsala. I must have ate about half of the pan by myself. I will definately make this again.

Easy Peach Crisp II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
Only used 1/2 cup of butter because that's all I had. I made up the difference in liquid by adding a few tablespoons of the canned peach syrup-I knew I set it aside for a reason! Came out beautifully!

Leslie's Strawberry Breakfast Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
First let me preface this with the fact I was super distracted. I was going to make sage pork chops, but I grabbed the curry powder and sprinkled it on the meat. Once I realized, I put sage and sea salt on top of it. I had some black cherry fruit spread and saw this recipe. Since the pork chops were already cooking, I just dumped the fruit spread in the pan with minced garlic. I put in a healthy amount worcestershire sauce on accident. I noticed the label when it back in the fridge! So I poured the soy sauce right in on top of it. With all my distraction, the chops still came out amazing!

Cinnamon-Raisin Granola

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2009
I thought this worked out perfectly to put on my morning yogurt. I did replace the oil with Sunsweets Lighter Bake fruit puree, just because all I had was olive oil. It still cooked up nice and crunchy. Next time I will add a little more sugar, but that is a personal preference.

Baked Ravioli Bites

good, easier way to make toasted ravioli in bulk and probably a little healthier too since you don't fry them. Even my little girl thought they were yummy, she snuck some from the pan!

Spinach Stuffed Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
YUM! Even though I didn't read through the directions. I put the sauce and cheese on and left it in for 20 mins. I think the top crust would have been crisper the way the direction say, but it still came out great. My picky 5 year old ate 3 slices.

Chris' Bay Area Burger

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
I did not expect these to taste so great. I halved the recipe and eyeballed the ingredients. Used minced garlic--probably about a tablespoon. Added dried onions and subbed 3 grinds of sea salt for the salt because that was what I had. Also used fresh ground pepper. We only had coney island hot dog rolls so I made them to fit in the buns and grilld on the Foreman. Tasted great with dijon mustard. I could definitely serve this for company and my picky 5 year old loved them too.
