Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
I know a lot of people like this. I'm just not one of them. Admittedly, I used Fat Free Cream Cheese and low-fat cream of chicken soup, so that might be the problem.

South Carolina Sweet Tea

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
I am a lifelong resident of SC, and I agree with cristiesc: you can't make tea in a coffeemaker without it having a slightly bitter taste (from the coffee residue) unless you devote your coffeemaker ENTIRELY to making tea. I make sweet tea EVERY DAY (it IS the tablewine of the South, y'all know!) and all I do is boil water in the microwave and then put the teabags in and let them "steep" (sit) for about ten minutes. Then I add sweetener (usually Splenda) and water. Super simple.

Delicious Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
Followed the recipe exactly; very bland. Perhaps next time I will add peanut butter chips or something.

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
My favorite pancakes in the whole world are at Cracker Barrel, and I never could find a recipe that comes close. That is, until NOW. Followed the recipe exactly as is--they were absolutely perfect. I will never buy Bisquick or use any other recipe ever again. Thanks so very much!

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
Like everyone else, I loved this recipe. One suggestion: if you make the Ranch dressing from the dry package (I used Hidden Valley Ranch mixed with fat-free buttermilk and canola oil mayonnaise) it is the perfect amount of dressing for the amount of pasta. It also tastes MUCH better than bottled Ranch dressing. I also used real bacon bits (because I had them and also because I was lazy) and it tasted great!

Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
This one wins five stars for taste as well as simplicity. I made it for my peanut-butter lover sons and they couldn't stop talking about it--AMAZING was the word I kept hearing. I wanted to take a picture of it for the website but it was gone too quickly!! One tip--when the recipe says "chill" on the crust, put it in the freezer for about an hour. That makes it much easier to put the ice cream/peanut butter mixture in it.

Garlic Cheese Grits with Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
This was a great, simple recipe. I did use one South Carolina trick that you didn't mention--I cooked the grits in Chicken Broth rather than water, plus I added a little Half & Half to make the grits a little creamier. I used frozen jumbo shrimp-- Outstanding! This is definitely a Dinner Club-worthy recipe.

Fresh Peach Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2006
This was very good. I did not add the additional sugar, as I thought it was sweet enough without it. Served it over grilled red snapper and it was delicious!

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
This recipe is fabulous; every bit worth five stars. I probably would add some pecans or peanuts the next time, though. Ten stars goes to the person who suggested mixing it in your kitchen sink! I made this for my bridge club, and they loved that idea almost as much as the popcorn!
