Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2010
I really enjoyed making this pie and didn't change a thing. Myself and a friend of mine enjoyed it. My only issues was trying to zest my thumb and forgetting to turn off my burner and melting some plastic in the process.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2012
I made these when DH said he wanted pancakes and we didn't have any mix. I figured I had everything to make them from scratch so I found this recipe and went to work. I mixed them up as written but found the batter to be very thick so added a couple splashes of milk. It helped and we had perfectly colored light and fluffy pancakes!

Aunt Carol's Apple Pie

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
This was a wonderful pie! My husband had two pieces in an hour. I really enjoyed it as well. I did forget the butter but I don't think it needed it!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
I followed the directions mostly but didn't use nuts, doubled the chocolate chips, and used Splenda instead of the white sugar and the only thing that didn't work out well for me was the cooking directions. I tried to put the dough on in heaping spoonfuls for 12 minutes at 325 but they came out a bit doughey. After the first batch I made my spoonfuls smaller, upped the temp to 350 and left them in for 15 minutes. Those batches came out much better. Because of this it gets four stars. Good recipe and definitely usable with these changes.

Banana Fritters

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2004
This recipe is workable once you figure it out. First it cooks best in a deep fat frier that has a temperature control. I cooked them on 300. If you don't have that a low pan of oil on the burner would probably do. While you are cooking them though I found that you had to poke them in the middle after they were half done to get them to cook the middles so they weren't goopy. And they don't have much of a banana taste. If you like them more banana I would add a banana or two.
